Very powerful ideas!
I have found the specific practices developed by Neff and Germer to be really useful--different ones at different times, though I'm still learning the skills to differentiate which one will work for me at which times.
Oh Jenni. I'm so excited (as well as all the negative stuff), to have happened upon your channel.
I'm especially looking for your reflective experience of building a suitable (for life with CPTSD) mindfulness practice.
But even after a cursory whizz through the list of content you've posted...I'm thrilled that you didn't stop a year or so ago (because your work wasn't being monetised).
I'm so so grateful 🩶
This is a great idea and I’m going to work on something. If you’re interested in the topic, others are bound to be too. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Hi Jenn! I have the books by Dr. Neff, and I am familiar with her work. I have not heard, however, of the book, *Emotion in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder*. WOW! "If we experienced neglect or some form or emotional or physical abuse during times of distress, we will have formed emotional memories linking the experience of needing and/or receiving care with negative emotions of shame, anger, loneliness, fear or vulnerability." THIS is why self-compassion can be so very difficult for those of us with CPTSD backgrounds. Thank you so much for this!!! 💚
It makes so much sense, when I think about it now, but it was an eye-opener for me, too!
