30 Minute Mocs: The Lord of Discord (S1: E8)

- After a one week hiatus, I am back with Stipahlu, Etok, and the gang with another 30 Minute Mocs Challenge! Watch as I race against the clock to complete a moc in 30 minutes or less! Look out for curve-balls! [ !!! ] Before submitting your ideas for custom 30MM challenges, please read the following guidelines below of challenge suggestions that I will be unable to accept or even consider:
• No combination models using exact pieces from official sets. This would require me to either partition out the parts or buy additional copies of sets, which I do not have the time or resources to do. If I acquire a pair or more of boxed sets I may make exception to this rule.
• No Mocs built based on the creative ideas of other Bionicle or CCBS fans, this includes Bioformers (in most cases, something exceptionally creative or different might be considered), other's Mocs/Self-Mocs, etc.
• No Mocs built using primarily system pieces or primarily generation 1 Bionicle parts, as my collection mostly contains current CCBS pieces.
• No excessively complex or large-scaled Mocs. Remember, I have to complete the challenge in 30 minutes, so there needs to be a least a fragment of hope that I can accomplish the challenge.

Since Ekimu got his pet falcon, i suggest you this challenge: try making others pet-creature for each Toas using similar complexity and similar method of attachment!

Challenge: Build a 2016 equivalent of the exo-toa that can be piloted by any 2016 Toa.

Great moc dude! I've been watching your videos since your matoran video came out and I have to say, they've only gotten better. A challenge I think you might like is: Build a real life animal inspired creature with a custom head.
I love this! When I get more parts this is what I'm gonna MOC. This idea is a really cool one! Love the MOC!
Build a MOC with a chain that looks like a ghost
Challenge: make a Toa sized figure of a new element, (not one of the 6) with a main color not used by any of the current Toa.
Different shades of colors can possibly be used, examples are: yellow, normal or navy blue, dark red, lime green,
( you can have a transparent secondary color, just make combination unique)
I think the Chima chestplate was a really good idea. I thought it was from one of the Skull Minions at first!
I really dig the whole aesthetic of the piece, even down to the hammer. In a world where Makuta was still working "with" Ekimu, this is perfect.
I'm really biased towards transpurple though. Love the stuff.
This was an awesome MOC, man. You deserve way more subscribers than your channel already has. I expect you to blow up in the next year or so, so keep up the good work, dude!
Create a pirate like villain MOC. It has to wear a skull mask but you can choose the main colors.

This build is excellent! Original idea! Great iteration of light-sided alternate Makuta! The aesthetic looks menacing but good alternate storyline for Makuta being on the good side!

As for a challenge, I've noticed that a majority of the mods you have been building are humanoid in shape. Lets change that! Create a new beast to unite with the toa. The element can be of your own choice. Good luck, and happy mocing!
Build a large monster MOC who doesn’t have a head, but has a face with a jaw function (either by articulation or by gearbox) in another part of his body, which has to be selected by a dice. The options are as follows:
1 = FRONT TORSO
2 = RIGHT ARM
3 = LEFT ARM
4 = BACK TORSO
5 = RIGHT LEG
6 = LEFT LEG
Make a character from the G1 storyline using the new CCPS. For example a bohrok, Piraka, Toa Metru, Takanuva, Brutaka, etc;. (Can keep the masks and weapons from G1 to make it actually possible).

A lot of people have suggested this, and he has explained why he hasn't chosen it in the comments of the last 30MM. I'll see if I can find it and post it here.
Alright, here's what he said (irrelevant info omitted):
"...it's definitely a tough challenge. I don't have many of the parts necessary to do a Gen 1 rehash, and even adapted to Gen 2 parts (Bohrok for example), I wouldn't be able to do it justice in the timeframe. There's a lot of nostalgia floating about, which is perfectly okay, but I believe the comparison would fall short of the original and not be as pleasing as one might hope for.
That being said, I have been experimenting with Bohrok 2.0 ideas, but it most likely wouldn't take root within a 30MM, as this will take a careful experimentation of gearing mechanisms to get just right.
So I haven't ruled out the potential of recreating new versions of old characters, but I'm just not particularly intrigued by the idea in a 30 minute timeslot (keep in mind I also only collected between 2001 and 2002, so a lot of the later, iconic character's I don't have as much love and nostalgia for as some others might)."

This guy looks great! I can defiantly agree with what you said about the armor piece that supposed to attach to his leg. And the one for the back as well. I think the chest armor should stay It adds the color of what makuta's spirit looks like in the bionics serious journey to one. It gives him that shadow look in a way
You should try to build a creature which can also be turned or used as a weapon by a Toa. Element can be of your choosing and does not have to unite.
Future MOC idea:
Build a toa of a new element(ex. Electricity; gravity; the undead).
By the way, your MOCs are amazing. I can't even fathom how you came up with the skeleton for Stipalu from the last video.
Make your own Dark Hunter or redesign a Dark Hunter (including Shadowed One)
I personally liked the chest piece you used, it fits well and I hope Lego makes an official set for Makuta that looks similar to this one.
Challenge: Make a moc using 2 shadow traps that also have to be part of the main color scheme.

My challenge: Build an Okotian insectoid, can be based on any insect you want and has to have an even number of legs.

Haha, it sounds like you're as nervous as I am. I still need to figure out some of the logistics of it. I will have a second camera showing that I am, in fact, blindfolded.
Hey stippling! I think Etok is a member of the earth tribe who was cast out because of his giant hands. Since then he has been standing around waiting for a time when he can help toa with his immense speed, But as a thirty minute moc challenge I think you should build a present or powersuit for Etok, but it must only use 3 different types of amour or shell pieces, excluding the large hands.

Challenge for next time- Build a moc with three arms, one on one side, two on the other, and that uses a greatsword and a shield. So two hands hold the sword, on hand holds the shield. AND IT MUST BE ABLE TO UNITE

I'd like to see you improve/finish MOCs from 30 Minute MOCs you were not completely happy with (such as this one) and make a seperate video about them.
Anyway, a challenge idea. A role reversal: make a Uniter-sized Elemental Creature that unites with a Elemental Creature-sized Uniter. What I mean by that is build a Elemental Creature (Creature of Jungle, Creature of Ice, etc) that is around about the same size as a standard Toa/Uniter and a Toa/Uniter that is around the size of a standard Elemental Creature. They must unite in a similar way to how the official sets unite, except with the Toa/Uniter on the back.
Nice MOC! I really like what you're doing with Etok. The buildup and suspense is great! Concerning the MOC, you had me on the edge of my seat at the end, building the weapon (and forgetting the shin!). For the chest, a maybe slightly better one could be: brickset.com/parts/6033752 It retains the annoying Chi orb, but it has gold instead of solid purple. To fix the Unity, you could attach the gold armor on the back straight to the torso skeleton, unless it clashes with the rib cage. Keep up the great work!
Challenge: Build a plant themed villain using the Hero Factory cocoons.
Build a creature of shadow using the 2016 CCBS style. It has to have at least one function, and has to be able to unite with Umarak or your MOC makuta

I have a Fan Bio for Etok. Here I go.
Etok was born in the northern mountains of Okoto, and was the heir to the Rock Golems Kingship. As he grew, he neglected his heirship, and instead practised the art of Escape, and became the best of the best. As he was the heir, he meant to be friendly, but he maintained a strict personality, and was antisocial. A few months later, Umarak the Destroyer came to Etok's village, and with his army of beasts, and killed everyone. Everyone except for Etok, as he had escaped. After escaping, Etok emerged into a Quake Beast hideout, and was attacked. Etok made it out, but not before suffering major trauma. The trauma changed Etok's personality, and made him more friendly, but thousands of times more smarter. Etok is currently looking for a way to become more powerful, and after hearing about Stipahlu's experiment, tracked Stipahlu down, and is actually near him at all times, and makes himself known to look normal and lost.

30 Minute MOC Idea: Might be too similar to the recent idea you added, but make a MOC that has a tiny MOC hiding inside it, which could "chest-burst" out (coughcough Alien cough)
Make a creature of your choice element but it must have two heads and a dragon like appearance

considering that you had 30 minute, you have done a great work, i like this makuta!
Challenge: Build a Uniter which utilizes colors from at least three elements and can still unite fluidly with an official creature of your choice.
AND ANOTHER 30 MINUTE MOC IDEA! Build the ugliest moc you can using pieces like the crystal pieces, ribcages, spikes, vibrant colors, and anything else that's UGLYYYYY!

P.S. I would like to see how they can fit in to the gen 2 story! Maybe you can have them be minions of umarak until he becomes corrupted, and then they work alone.

I think the chest plate matches Makuta pretty well, however I feel like the black Glatorian necks for the shoulders look a little spindly (in spite of the pauldrons). Some piece added in would fill that gap better, maybe an additional Bohrok eye.
Heya! I'm just throwing out this out; how about constructing a Toa Kaita (fusions of Toa) using only the pieces from either the 2015 or 2016 sets, your choice. You could create one giant fusion or two separate entities. Also, love the challenges.
Build a Protector (Fire or Ice your choice) that can unite with a custom creature.I love your work btw big fan
Challenge: Build a bulky and derpy MOC that is using the 2015 gear function for his legs! (You can use a custom torso but not the 2016 torso)

Stippling calls this devious, as if Stipahlu has threatened to tell the viewers an embarrassing story or something.
I think the Chima chest plate looks fine. It's like his pure heart is turning bad and corrupted.
Also: for a fix for the back armor, just remove the armor connector, change the blue 3-length pins for 2-length pins, and attach the gold armor part onto the torso's balljoint. The villain chest shell leaves room.

Almost as original! You chose a good variety of pieces, I would suggest uing more black since its Makuta´s original color and purple is just an additional color :) Too sad you didnt have time to make a creature for him, maybe you can make a separate creature, who knows :) Also, like for those dialogs between you and your creations :D
30 Minute MOC Idea: Make a protector with a creature it can mount with. I dont remember if you have built something like that but I think its a great suggestion since its creative, small-sized and you will have to make it in time :)

If you ever come back, a good 30 Minute MOC challenge would be to create a 2016 G2 Uniter version of Takanuva, the Toa of Light.
Optional: Build a standard creature version of Agil too.
Challenge: Build a deputy to work along side of Makuta
Also the way you built Makuta, it looks like it could have been made like an official Lego set
Well seeing how my ideas from last week were selected, (Just with other people that had the exact same ideas.) I would want to see an ancient toa or something of the sorts, something that rivals the mask makers in age. He could look very primal compared to the other toa, possibly something along the lines of Umarak, with horns and all.

this moc has inspired me to build a makuta moc myself thats how awesome it is also for te mocs I tought of build ccbs ver of the 2010 allstars using only the 2016 style of build

Hey stippling, I just wanted to say, great work on the channel, i found you via your original Stiphalu (hope I spelled that right) and i have been following you ever since :D, anyway, what i came here to say, my 30 minute moc challenge idea is; build a holy-style moc (angel wings or something of that sort) and only use transparent or bone and armour pieces, you can use coloured technic pieces (no black or grey)
For the back armour piece, you could probably just take off the armour adder part to make it more flush with the unity piece, and make room for creatures!
Challenge Idea: Build a water themed skull villain! He (or she) should have some sort of custom function and a unique weapon.

Create a role reversal for Ekimu and Makuta, as in Ekimu being the evil brother and Makuta being the good brother. they can be protector sized to save up time.
The ultimate discord mod
30 Minute MOC Idea: Build 2 or more MOCs similar to Ekimu's eagle (of course no System pieces necessary). They should all be able to attach/perch on another MOC/Ekimu/Toa, whether it be arm, shoulder, etc.
30MM idea:
Build as many little rahi as possible using CCBS (a la G1 polybag style)

The gold shell on his back would have worked if there hadn't been a grey ball/technic connector underneath it; the Uniter torso had an open balljoint that would have worked.
Build a skull villian that can unite with a creature, creature can be undead to fit the skull villian design.
Challenge: Create a large animal-ish MOC which has a uniter piece on it's chest, but not for uniting protectors, but for capturing them, wether it be for a midnight snack, or for evil purposes. If this is chosen, then good luck!
Challenge: Build another skull villain that uses the element of water, has a 2015-esque gear function, and it must have a unique design. Similarly to the four arms, the scorpion design, and the unique function.
I ADORE the new mech! Also, Makuta's shoulders are a bit too broad, but if they were kept, a bit new armor on the shoulders.

I agree with the shoulders. If you watch pretty early on a burned many minutes on getting those in position with the pauldrons and it still ended up pretty bad. Probably my biggest regret over the course of the build.
Here's a challenege for you: Take an existing BIONICLE character (G2 or maybe even G1) and recreate them as if they were one of Kulta's undead Skull Creatures. Bonus points for adding a novel type of function not seen in the 2015/16 sets so far.
I'd like to point out: It wasn't necessarily the gold armor shell that was in the way, it was the piece it was attached to, one of those weird three-long liftarms with the balljoint in the middle. That specific part wasn't necessary. Other than that, I think the Chima chestplate actually looks pretty good, although it kinda sucks it has little to no gold on it.

Build a Moc that is standard or advanced CCBS but the main esthetics of the moc will be its large storage of different weapons/Armor pieces that just stick together through pegs and axles!
Since you didn't have time for a creature, maybe you could make a "pet" for Makuta, like how Ekimu has his falcon. Preferably a large quadruped to contrast Ekimu's small bird.
HEY STIPPLING! 30MINUTE MOC CHALLENGE: build a MOC that each limb is a Regular torso peice or titan torso. I had a shot, tricky challenge. Good luck ;)
FORGET THE LAST CHALLENGE IDEA OF MINE XD New and better challenge: Build Ekimu's falcon as a large uniter built for Ekimu. you don't need to modify Ekimu, just do your thing ;)
Challenge: Create a MOC using only CCBS bone and shell pieces- no Technic allowed. Only exceptions are the G2 Bionicle heads, masks, and eye-stalks(and the axle to hold it in place).
Here's my challenge to you; build a combiner model beast that uses parts from all the 2016 unity creatures. So in a sense, make it like your 30MM six element toa. Since its a combiner model, make it toa sized. And to make it more interesting, it has to be a creature we haven't seen in any of the uniter creatures, both official sets and your personal MOCs. It doesn't need to unite with anything, as I feel what is above is enough of a challenge, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. Gear function is also optional
Challenge: Build a creature that is meant to combine with Umarak the Hunter. Optional: Include a Shadow Trap in the design.
Make a rebooted bohrok with all of its important features: it must be able to turn into a ball, launch a mask of some sort from his head, and some kind of attack featuring the head if possible.
a good challenge could be to make a monster from a movie.
Pretty good Stippling, sure it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. I do prefer the look of my Uniter Toa size Makuta, but I might be biased.
my challenge: Build an animal inspired humanoid character, who can transform into that animal.
Challenge: Create a Toa/Villain and creature of your own design out of pieces only from the 2016 sets, but there is no limit to the amount of pieces from sets you can use from the year.

OR (30 minute MOC idea) you could build a Toa/Uniter with an unused element (light, steel, dark, food, etc.) but only with pieces from the bionicle 2016 Uniter sets.
