This was so fascinating to watch! I love how much time and effort you put into learning, exploring, and demonstrating your love for Fantasmic here and the RCT3 recreations. Hope you’re still just as passionate this many years later. 😊
Well it's not just a well timed pyro that goes off, but smoke is released to cover the lift rising up as well. When it's time to go back down the lift just goes down while a pyro shower covers the movement, which by the time it ends the classic mickey is saying his last words.
I love the work you did to demonstrate this for everyone. I’m not stupid by any means, but definitely would have never been able to rig something like this up.
I love youtube. Where else would someone take the trouble to do all that? I loved this video, and appreciate the time, effort, and spirit that went into making it.
Anyone here in 2024? I’ve seen this video before and it’s amazing, still is and got me into learning what goes on behind the scenes of my favorite loved show
Good explination...but if a little kid sees this it will ruin the magic, and being a castmember, i must say we do frown upon these kind of things, and we all know there is only one Mickey Mouse
thats really interesting! thanks a lot for posting :) ive heard about how it works but doesnt make a whole lot of sense until you actually see how its done. thanks!
you are not distroying anything!!!! Great job in your video, I can tell how passionate you're by taking the time to do this, great job and continue dreaming and in the future I believe you can become a great imaginieer....!!!!
the door opens inward into the mountain were pretty much just a mechanical arm slides out with a dragon head and two wings slide out and move to the sides, the wings are controlled by two actors on each, the head is the only part that is done my computer and hydraulics.
Have you ever been on the Maliboomer at California Adventure, or a similar space shot ride? You know, the rides where you wait and wait and then you shoot up at 40mph? It is that simple.
You did you an excellent job with your props. I am very proud of you for taking a risk by being bold and taking the time in making this video without being arrogant. For those of you that left nasty know-it-all comments, shame on you. Most of you have never worked in Disney let alone Fant, so therefore, most of you don't know what you're talking about. My only critique, as a WDW show/parade cast, is that the timing of the Mark Twain/Steamboat Willie is wrong with the track. Overall good job :)
There's got to be more to it. If mickey is 6 and a half feet tall in costume, he would travel roughly seven feet vertically in half a second. The force of a 200 pound mickey traveling 7 feet in half a second produces incredible g forces on the body. It can't be that simple.
I see it... If you watch him rising up enough times, he's really moving much, MUCH slower than I thought. I knew stage lifts were involved, but I always thought it was done incredibly fast. Guess I just never paid attention.
Ahaaa I was talking to you. I commend the guy who did this video. He did a great job showing us how it worked. I just found your comment stupid when you failed to see cedric182's joke...
@combkid If you look and listen Disney does that at every chance they can get. I spent one year just looking around for all of the little silly hints at everything. There's quite a few to say the least. lol ;)
Thats funny! Because that means I would have been out of a job years ago then, doesnt it? Last time I checked we are still around!!! Who do you think makes the rides and ideas? DUH?!?!?!
IVE BEEN LOOKING 4 A PROGRAM 2 MAKE A DISNEYLAND FIREWORKS SHOW IN RCT3 BUT CANT FINT IT!!! I GOT IT PLANED BUT I WANNA PUT IT 2 ACTION!!! ANY1 KNOW WATS A CHOICE???!!! PS GREAT DEMONSTRATION!!! U SHUD WORK AT DISNEY!!! :D
This Mt. is it at MGM studios? ...With a Magic Smile I say : Disneyland Ca. Tom Sawyer Cider Mill from the on stage veiw, is just this two story building?. Ok think inside Your Minds eye, eight flights of stairs, will tell You Your in a very magical building, Yes Mickey Loves Magic, and He Loves to share but with one person at a time. From out of the break room (top story) One story translates roughly to 10 feet. "Poof"... Safety First ! Chain's into a small lift Just like Your moc-up and then
That was REALLY, REALLY good! Well done! Timing was perfect!

I think you should go for Disney Imagineering...You got what it takes.
destroying Disney magic with real magic: engineering
A trick: you can watch series on Flixzone. Been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Thiago Joshua Definitely, I have been using Flixzone for since december myself =)
I love the work you did to demonstrate this for everyone. I’m not stupid by any means, but definitely would have never been able to rig something like this up.
That's really cool. Thanks for taking the effort to build the model and sharing your craft.
Well done. Great model, too. I hope you go on to do more in the engineering world.
4:25 That looks like a jump cut
Holobrine true
Good eye! It is, if you watch him in the background, you can seethe cut.
you sir are right
either a jump cut or zooming in at the same time
I love youtube. Where else would someone take the trouble to do all that? I loved this video, and appreciate the time, effort, and spirit that went into making it.
Nice video man! That set up you built is pretty cool. Great work
Also: the mountaintop Mickey is almost six feet tall, in an oversized costume, to help with perspective. The stage-level Mickey is regular-sized.
is this fact-checked? if so I might try to land a job as a Fantasmic Mickey when I’m move to the states lol
Anyone here in 2024? I’ve seen this video before and it’s amazing, still is and got me into learning what goes on behind the scenes of my favorite loved show
dang, you must be a genius! haha that was so awesome, great job with the re-creation!
Good explination...but if a little kid sees this it will ruin the magic, and being a castmember, i must say we do frown upon these kind of things, and we all know there is only one Mickey Mouse
that was so freakin cool!! you could probably make a real life recreation
and I cant wait to see my water screens in action in your rct3 recreation
All good as long as the dragon doesn’t set on fire
That was very nice and interesting you did a great job thanks for sharing :)
thats really interesting! thanks a lot for posting :)

Great job man!! when r u going to make the ghost in haunted mansion video???

Cool. Nice one

Nice . . . nice work !
Holy Shit! That's Amazing.... How do u make these things??????
Dude you are so awesome! Nerd! Great going though!
There's got to be more to it. If mickey is 6 and a half feet tall in costume, he would travel roughly seven feet vertically in half a second. The force of a 200 pound mickey traveling 7 feet in half a second produces incredible g forces on the body. It can't be that simple.
Well done.
I will say that he did a great job on the recreation of the top of the mountain but it isn't that hard to found out that there is an elevator.
Great job.
thanks!! I really love your video! :D
very interesting, how do you know this? what all else do they do for the show?
Do you know how rhe proyections in whater works? Also thank you
great job!!!
@cedric182 no its true my uncle was in the mickey suit and showed me that it was an elevator
It would be SOO cool if you made the rest of the mountain and did Fantasmic!!!
I see it... If you watch him rising up enough times, he's really moving much, MUCH slower than I thought. I knew stage lifts were involved, but I always thought it was done incredibly fast. Guess I just never paid attention.
Yes, but the actor is standing up. Not strapped in and sitting down, but most people would at least wobble doing the same thing while standing.
Excellent job!
how do you think the SNOW HAG, not witch, appears?
Pretty interesting...
Very nice!
idono if you can buy ticks for just fantasmic but there is a backstage tour called the "backstage magic" tour..well at WDW atleast
actually.... if you listen to the music, it blends with the choreography ;)
Your incredible!! Thanks for the information:]
i would never want to see mickey mouse go up in a ball flames at all i'd like t o see him just the way he is as the sorcerer's apprentice
Take a look under the related videos and watch the video entitled 'Fantasmic Finale - Behind Mickey!'. You'll change your mind.
how do u know they dont just use 2 mickeys... one on the top and one on the bottom
nice job dude..
Can u make a video on how to make this
Well i'll be, I thought it was magic!:( :D
But that was rather interesting, and well made :)
i was watchin it and when the evil queen from snow white was turning into the hag i could see her swich places with someone
thats a pretty cool modek of the mountain
thats hella tight
want to do me a favor and take pictures of the dragon area and the mickey lift at the top for the finale....please!!!?????!
But how does he get back down to the bottom soooooooo fast?!?!?!?!?!?
Is that part magic?
Ahaaa I was talking to you. I commend the guy who did this video. He did a great job showing us how it worked. I just found your comment stupid when you failed to see cedric182's joke...
These are called stage lifts, they are becoming rather common in theaters. Most have 2 or 3.
that was awesome...
do you mean disney world or land?
He( the witch) goes down and the old hag comes up The Witch does not go down by the elevator The Witch goes down when the Spell Bowl thing goes down
@combkid If you look and listen Disney does that at every chance they can get. I spent one year just looking around for all of the little silly hints at everything. There's quite a few to say the least. lol ;)
how do you know all of this, it is a company secret of how it is done.
Thats funny! Because that means I would have been out of a job years ago then, doesnt it? Last time I checked we are still around!!! Who do you think makes the rides and ideas? DUH?!?!?!
how did you make the spark
Where did u get the music???!!!

This guy has allot of time on his hands.
