At the risk of sounding completely daft, I am not certain I get this. I get that sauce=source. But where does ketchup or tomato become power? Is it just bc of the aforementioned sauce/source thing?
I agree. Not a fan of the whole being stuck in brig storyline, it's my least favourite storyline from Red Dwarf altogether. I will admit there are some really funny scenes like this and the Cassandra episode. But after that, just not my thing. And the fact it never got properly resolved with the cliff-hanger at the end. I'm happy that show came back and we got more seasons in the end though, so I'm happy it didn't end with season 8.
@@jeremythomaswebb1485 They really dumbed down the humour and cranked up the “whacky” aspects of the characters who never really had that trait before, so the shift was about as smooth and jarring as changing from 5th to reverse at 80mph. Lister and the Cat seemed to be competing to see who could be the most deliberately stupid and Kryten appears to be taking queues from a kids entertainer on speed.
@@WardyLion I like to think Series 8 happens in a parallel world because Kochanski looks dramatically different to how she does in series 7. Since the movie never happened here's my take on events: Starbug returns to the ship and the go through the whole ship returning to normal size, they have it back to themselves and the crew aren't resurrected. Because Rimmer's Light bee wasn't on Starbug by the end of series 7, the nanobots must have thought it was lost too so the constructed a new one which contains a version of Rimmer from his last system backup. Which would be not long before the original left to be Ace Rimmer. Starbug had the tech to replicate the hard light drive so Rimmer is restored to the way he was. And the whole crew go about their usual business and events eventually lead to Back to Earth. It's the most logical approach to the gap between season 8 and Back to Earth as well as the later seasons. With Series 8 happens in a alternative version of the main series.
This wasn’t even the first time the Dwarfers did it, there was a very early episode where they were in the Better Than Life game, which was a lot worse for them in the novels.
Erm.. yeah..Not sure why this happened. Not really in the universe of Red Dwarf, and probably not what Doug and Grant would have written. I think this is the polar opposite of “Tongue Tied”, but I’m still a smeg head, so rock-on dwarfers ;-)
“It’s a pity he’s only smart when he’s made out of plasticine”. I lost it at that bit
"He got that?" "This proves, without a shadow of a doubt, we are NOT in reality." I think I died at that point laughing.
"another year were i have to send a valentine to my hand"
"proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is not reality" aww.
Love the cat.
It would be interesting if cat actually is a savant kind of person, being an actual genius but has the brains of a kipper.
a little smart cat is a very dangerous thing!
I really LOVE this scene.
KING CRIMSON ATTACKS
*Lister being eaten by a shark was one thing.*
Another year where I have to send a valentines card to my hand 😂😂😂😂
Same here
Framed or not, they're as guilty as the second gunman behind the Grassy Knoll.
Nope. They aided and abetted, JFK took the shot.
"Bananas."
"How come he's only smart when he's made out of plasticine?"
Power sauce! Love it.
Kochanski is unbelievably dull.
Agreed, not a patch on Clair Grogan.
Uh huh. Possibly because in this scene 2 of her key lines were 'Press it!' ... Twice.

@@voteDC thank you so much! I had no idea.
Lags, lags everywhere
3:34 Anybody notice that 'tomato sauce' is spelled 'tomato source'?
I did. But only in this particular viewing, and I've seen this clip several times before.
Isn't that meant to be part of the gag?
Red Dwarf meets Pingu
Noop, noop...!
This is just brilliant 😂🤣😅😆😅🤣😂
This was one of the very few parts of RD8 I actually enjoyed.
My favourite was when they spiked the guards half-time juice with boing: the virility enhancement drug
