Hope you brought a coat! In this episode, we venture to the Planet Kylmyys, home of Commander Ben Tennyson's Necrofriggian form, Big Chill! Years ago, this transformation possessed him into bearing fourteen offspring... so where are they now?

The fact Ben tries to make time for his kids is actually kind of cool and realistic, not to mention bringing them into the Cannon of 5YL like this shows how much you guys loved the original series
I still think they should make a short comic, or a short animation of Ben and his kids getting to do father and kid stuff, I want to see them happy

Considering Big Chill’s (Ben’s) kids are sorta part human who are naturally social creatures it makes sense the siblings stick together and despite what they say may actually desire a relationship with there father

I love that a group of Necrofriggian hatchlings is called an Eclipse. It just makes way too much sense and sounds wonderful.
Its probably the term for a group of necrofrigians in general, but because they are so solitary that the only groups you see are hatchlings.

@@rossjones8656 I think before the team went to face the Highbreed invasion Azmuth have mentioned that the Omnitrix have the power to bring back extinct races by preserving their DNA in the device, it may could be the answer. Not to mention that fully unlocked, the Omnitrix was able to fix the genetic damage of the ENTIRE Highbreed race, after all Azmuth did not made the Omnitrix to be a weapon, it was the people who wielded/pursued it that made it into a weapon.

@@supanerdreviews4056 It doesn't MERGE Ben's DNA. It translates it into said alien DNA and then tweaks it to the best possible sample of the species. Meaning while transformed ben is 100% peak alien genes

This was because the Omnitrix suffered a glitch upon recalibration, and the Ultamatrix was an overall inferior device as Albedo created it based on the Omnitrix post-recalibration.

I love how we actually see how Ben's kids are in this mini series because the canon show didn't really explain to what happened to the baby necrofriggians but to me I consider this my canon continuity

Ben's Big Chill is a prime specimen of the species, so the 14 baby necrofrigians will be the fittest kids in the planet.
Do take note that the species is antisocial yet all 14 of them live together something they most likely inherited from Ben and it seems most the time the children don't even see the parent so their far more human than they think

Their home world is possibly a 174 Light Years away (Orion to the specific Scutum part of the sector) trip and their father birthed them against his will when he was 15. Somewhat....bad situation all around.

I know some people may find it sad that thermascorians die after laying their eggs but I find that it makes them feel more realistic as this occurs in nature. Details like this really show just how much work Ash puts into these amazing videos.

I think it's a reference/parallell with Octopuses. The female Octopus lays her eggs and the body cannibalises itself to form a nutrient soup that the newborns feed on. I love the science in these videos and how they explain things from the show in realistic ways.

@@_aWiseMan from what I remember, the omnitrix fuses it's user's dna with the alien. So in a way those young Necrofriggian's have Anodite and human genes.
Bear in mind, Necrofriggians reproduce asexually. Ain't like there's another parent DNA making it 50/50. It's 100% from that prime DNA
The Ink Tank says that the ultimatrix only turns Ben into identical copies of the source so you know Bivalvian was probably had like a dad bod so in Ultimate Alien Ben would have a dad bod as water hazard, but in Omniverse he’s the Dwayne Johnson of an Orishan and the DNA source for ChamAlien was probably the same as a 60 year old so Ben will be a 60 year old as ChamAlien

Fun fact: I didn't know if I liked your version of Ben or not until I heard him voiced and what he looked like in motion animated; now I love it and think it's a perfect in-between with the oldest version of still young Ben and Original series Ben 10,000. Also this is one of my favorite channels now I love the analogies of the original series that holds a magnifying glass up to everything I loved about it. Revisiting the series as a 21 y/o I see a lot of subtle nuances now and found there is a ton of quality that I didn't notice enough to appreciate when I was Ben's age when the series was new. I remember watching the day the pilot aired and wanted more. I never thought the series was gonna be expanded on so much. Thanks a lot Ink Tank.
Finally someone talks about Ben's offsprings! I wanted to know more about them, especially about the smaller one and see Ben interact with them.

For a future episode of And Beyond, it would be interesting to hear the stories of Arburia (Cannonbolt's home world even though it was destroyed), Vulpin (Wildmutt's home world), the Teslavorr Nebula (Home nebula of Feedback's species) or it could be interesting to hear more about Piscciss (Ripjaws's home world) especially because it would be nice to hear someone mention the war between Piscciss and Pyros

@@supanerdreviews4056 who's the cool trio? Cause they got all of the Alien Force starting Roster aside from Goop, Spidermonkey, Jetray, Brainstorm, and Chromastone (who we've kinda seen in the show). You could also say the Forge of Creation for Alien X but that's not really a planet and would be very hard to do. Plus Alien X has gotten enough attention

According to Derrick J Wyatt all of Ben's aliens contain a tiny amount of the users DNA when he is using them, they are Ben's kids, they've even got green eyes (which is Ben's eye colour and represents his soul when he is transformed) they're Ben's kids
Big chill is just necrofriggen ben he becomes a necrofriggen as if he was born one he isn't some random memeber of the species thats him his dna changes to that of a necrofriggen but its still bens dna all "transformations" are just ben tbh their more like transmutation just without the genic altering well ig it does alter him genetically just not as harsh

It's so cool that you brought the Big Chill kids back and that Ben does try to care for him. It's sad that they see him as a dead beat though. I guess that sort of parent child relationship is hard given Ben's position.
While rewatching this (stellar episode, as always, by the way), when it reached the part explaining Necrofriggian biology, I started wondering how it compares to Ultimate Big Chill. Then I remembered commenters on the Swampfire episode wondering how Methanosian biology changed from Hyper Evolution (since baseline Methanosians only have wooden skin at the end of their life). This made me think it would be cool if some of these episodes had a segment where it explains how the species’ biology and home planet changes in the Ultimatrix simulation (and this could be explained as this data being taken from the remnants of the Ultimatrix after it was destroyed).
I want to see more of the Ice Pack. Heck, they deserve their own mini series.

I like how they basically just murdered Horus and ate him alive, and no one cares. Like, he basically got his head pried open and his brain ripped out of it, while he was STILL CONSCIOUS. Like, that's pretty metal.
If Bigchills children are assumed to be still alive and if they managed to grown up to adults does that mean that they could be one of the strongest of their species because of they have the same DNA as Bigchill ? 🧐
Take this with a grain of salt, but DJW did say Ken met them, so they survived all the way into the Ben 10,000 era.

Their social skills allowing them to survive as long as they did arguably already makes them the top of their species. They could literally start building up to a actual Necrofriggian society.
It would also imply that they're at their prime state as the omnitrix transforms him into the prime versions of themselves. So combine prime necrofrigian dna with ben's human dna, we're looking at 10 of the most potentially powerful set of necrofrigians in the know universe.

Looking at Ben's kids, they seem to have inherited varying amounts of human DNA, making them technically hybrids.
Thats a unique situation, considering the asexual reproduction, that could lead to changes in the Necrofriggian race over time.
Make sense since each Alien form is unique to Ben.
I think it might just be genetic variation and possibly due to growing up around earth's sun rather then the ones their species is used to.though I do think they picked up human habits given they stuck together despite Necrofriggians being mostly solitary.

Big chill is so cool. Him and fastrack because at a quick glance, they can look like humans, big chill as a tall man in a hood and fast track as a guy in a suit. Other then that, big chills design, minus the Omni verse one, makes big chill seem unassuming but he can ice people in a hot second
This might sound weird, but will we ever get an And Beyond on Earth? It would be interesting to see how our culture would be explained to aliens. Plus we could find out a bit more about what Ben and the other characters have been up to.

Big Chill was honestly such an awesome alien, he was one of my top favs
All the episodes are great, but I feel like you guys really went above and beyond (hey look I made a funny) for this one. The animation is outstanding and the lore is so intricately developed, it feels like an actual documentary. The world feels better developed than the canon version that we actually saw in UA.

I like to think what happens to cause the ultimatrix evolution is due to the molten metal they eat, due to learning how to become better predators as a result of them become the top predators, after the psycholepotrans go extinct, they decide to incorporate the molten core of the planet into their bodies, increasing their heat and adding their cold with fire.

I hope to see more of the Ice Pack in future installments. I also love the addition of mentioning things like drugs in this world, adds another layer of depth to the world building.

It amuses me that Ben could learn so much just by being one of his Aliens for a day. Learning Big chills taste buds by just having a taste test day or As of the recent breakdown spending a day as Alien X to get family with Bellicose and Serena. He could probably learn some neat stuff just spending at least an hour with some of the less handy Aliens like the worst.
He normally just uses the onboard instinct dump to learn most of the basics. Which only works because Ben has Stupid good intuition and the Omnitrix is well made.
I am loving the new story-based approach to And Beyond!
I have to say, I really enjoyed this one, The creativity, the humor, and even the sprinklings of long term plot. Everything really came together for this one. Nice job on the episode!

Big Chill was my most fav of the new aliens when Alien Force started. Previous gen my favs (tied for first lol) were XLR8, and Heatblast.

The high breed exist in the outer part of the universe before you get to the time barrier of the forge of creation. It's weird because I see some inconsistencies with how the writers say the Universe of ben 10 is just a universe not a multiverse or Omniverse.

I like how Ben grows up and shows some of the traits of a great leader now that he’s older. Definitely got that from Grandpa Max. Zskayr’s race, the Ectonurites are annoying seeing how they come back as long as traces of them remain after burning in the sunlight. Ben really has to find a way to get rid of him for good. Speaking of Zskayr, how did he end up in the omnitrix in the first place anyway?😒I still wonder to this day how.🤔

I've always wondered if Z'Skayr's DNA being used in the Omnitrix was meant to be a sort of prison for him.
Zskayr’s DNA was sampled along with Flaurauna DNA that he was possessing when he and Myaxx were collecting Wildvine’s DNA Donor’s DNA.

OMG, da kiddos were friggin' amazing! Love that they continue the Ben Tennyson trend of stupid names for themselves. That burn from Horas about it was the funniest part, man. Wish Ben could spend more time with Big Chill's Eclipse of kiddos, but I understand why. Must be hard for both sides to bear, though. I dig the backstory for why Kylmyys became the frozen hellhole it is now, and getting to see the genetic ancestor to all intelligent life on the planet was a real treat. Always well-researched and fun as hell as always, Ink Tank! Thank you for bringing the Chills and their fellow buggies to life again.
