Is the ref an American? They did that again. The ref cheated Canadian the Women world soccer champion for the US. The Americans always want to be American First in anything.
Canada has always been behind the 8 ball with refs. Classic example of that would be the 2002 Olympic Gold Medal game. Canada was getting terrible calls against them the entire game but held it together and won.
Was there an angle that actually showed the puck and the player in the same shot? If the linesperson called it onside, they would need 100% video proof to overturn the call.
No goal when the contact was when the puck was already on its way in and no possibility of a save? Then a clear offside gets waived off? Refs are nuts.
it was but for some reason if you dont have a conclusive video you can't use obvious logic, you have to go by the original call. It's the rules not the refs.
@@obscurereference6298 The problem is the lack of explanation of why the decision was made as it was. This is the most bitter rivalry in team sports today.....but most people don't know it. These two teams ABSOLUTELY hate each other.....but only because Canada has established a dynasty and they can't handle it when they lose.
That was the most incompetent call I've ever seen. None of those officials should call another game. And the TSN announcers just glossed over that call "They might have had a better angle ..." The puck was outside of the zone, she was fully inside when the pass hit her. How is that not offside? I think that they wanted the drama of a US comeback. "This game had everything ...". They should have been screaming about how bad that call was, or at least demanding to understand how the linesmen saw it that way. Nothing. At the end of the day it showed how these refs and linesmen are not equipped to officiate a game at this level. I think back to Canada vs USA in an Olympic gold medal game. The linesman couldn't get out of the way and tripped the Canadian. The US player shot the puck down the ice because of that and it hit the empty net post. Then in overtime Wickenheiser gets tripped on a breakaway. It's called a penalty shot. No wait, she changes it to a two minute penalty. Under pressure that ref had no game. Meanwhile there were NHL refs and linesman - who were there for the men's hockey - cooling their heals. I love women's sports and I think that these women deserve the best on ice officials possible, and I sure didn't see this then and certainly not tonight.
There wasn't a single angle from the video above that actually showed where her feet were when the puck crossed the blue line. So it is possible they had a better angle that showed it. It "seemed" offside to me but if you replay it even at 0.25x you will find there's no definitive evidence from the angles given (mainly because the frame rate on YT is too low).
@@sports2hedz542 You would be incorrect. You don't need any special angle to clearly see that the USA player's WHOLE BODY was ALREADY across the blueline when the puck arrived. This is not a gray area. This is not marginal. This is not a close call. This is called OFFSIDE...not maybe, not almost, not close.... These officials need to be investigated.
I can understand when a referee or linesman makes an honest mistake. It's disappointing, but no one's perfect. However, that US goal was reviewed by four people, it was a metre offside. I'd like to know how the referee explained their decision to the Canadian bench. It's certainly suspicious whenever it appears a US athlete or team is, once again, handed a goal.

In what world was that onside? Also that goalie interference is iffy at best. Goalie reaches out to make contact and there’s a 0% chance she saves it anyways.
Thaty's how I saw it. She made no attempt to play the shot, instead, stuck her mit out high, (the shot was going low five hole.) into the forwards arm who would have clearly missed her if not for the effort of the goalie to make contact in oder to pull the call. Chickenshit cheat was all.
