These 5 young gopikas represent our five senses, and they use 'Jnana' (the wooden pestle) to pound and remove the husk called Maya, thus unveiling the Atman hidden within.Just like how children dress up and enact like Radha or Krishna during Janmashtami, these pure souls dressing up and enacting like Madisar mamis is truly heartwarming! When such "sampradayams" are replicated and highlighted from a credible and authentic source like 'Vande Guru Paramparaam', many parents and children from various other states and countries too will be motivated to follow our traditions and culture. The act of surrender is the crux, and that's depicted through 'Muthu Samarpanam' here, where the pounded rice (shuddha chith) is offered to Bhagavan as a 'Samarpanam'. These 5 Gopikas teach us how one can experience Him whilst performing our normal chores, with a Bhava of love and surrender! Andal, through Her Thiruppavai, wakes up all her friends, which is actually a wake-up call to our minds that is sleeping in darkness of ignorance. We have '30 days of language learning books', but Andal taught us how to attain Bhagavan in 30 days through love and surrender. May we all have a pure yearning for Him like Andal or the Gopikas!
