    Is it possible to make shrink the pattern to make a smaller backpack?? Great video and great workmanship!!!

    • @craftsmangus
      @craftsmangus  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can shrink the size but I'm not sure you plan for how mini it will.
      Like smaller for casual daily life or small like fashion accessories items.
      But when scale down you need to consider to some parts and proportion that still need to maintain aspect ratio/human scale due to metal accessories part, zipper or the length of the straps.

    Does the main zipper have to be curved like that? Or could we slightly alter it to make it straight? I ask because if changing the shape will mess with the structure of the bag then I’ll leave it alone

      Yes, it came out almost the way as sewing machine. (The stitching seams is noticeable details)
      I do work with industrial sewing machine too.
      Some how, many leather crafter didn't have the cylinder bed sewing machine coz its quite expensive.
      I try to make all things possible with hand.

    • @craftsmangus

      Leather is locally tanned in Thailand and I bought from Charoen Rat local leather street area in Bangkok.
      Shop name "Vivat"
      I use Grafted Polychloroprene Adhesive "Bond Tech" brand local sell in Thailand.

    • @craftsmangus
      @craftsmangus  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. For this project we use about 2 working days (without video shooting).
      It's hard to tell if I have to estimate time and result to craftsmen I never work by side.
      Lets say should be less than 7 days. And the result also depends.
      But if any artisans or careers whom pass 10,000 hrs of work (in theory) should be good.

    Beautiful work! I've been waiting for this video and pattern. Thanks so much for sharing!!! What glue do you use?

    • @craftsmangus
      @craftsmangus  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use local adhesive glue available in Bangkok THAILAND. "BONDTECH" , "DB" , and "888".
      But I'm not sure if you can find about same quality as this in the state or not.
      Because I have many students from USA and tell me they can't fine something like this.
      So. You might find brand "PATTEX" "DUNLOP" or "PYRM" contact cement in ebay it may close to what I use.

      For the material I bought most of them from local leather street of Bangkok.
      I don't know where you live and about the leather market near you.
      But if you plan to buy online you can check RMLeather supply if you live in the state.
      In Asia you can look in to Brother leather HongKong or Phoenix Osaka.

      The original hide is 1.8 mm. thickness.
      I skive in half (0.9) in side about 1 cm.
