Great video mate, going to Hamilton next week and looking forward to fishing, my grandfather actually went in 2005 and him and his mate fished in a boat right near runway, turns out it was illegal but they caught tons of fish because nobody was catching them there.
Hey as far as I know it is legal to fish everywhere, apparently you’re not meant to fish in the marina but there are no signs and I did not get told off while i was there.
Hey mate I'm heading up Hamilton island end of week and just wondering did you fish anywhere else apart from the marina??and did you only use plastics??
yea we fished a few of the beaches around the island including catseye, not much luck. we threw stickbaits and poppers for larger pelagics but had much more success on simple plastics.
The only way I know of is by checking it in as oversized luggage at the airport. And it will go with the rest of your luggage I don’t think it is possible to bring it on the plane with you unless it is a travel rod which can split into multiple pieces and fit in your bag.
@@zanesfishing9189 i got away without paying so i'm happy. whereabouts did you fish in the marina and around the place close to there? already caught a small fish but don't know what it is. cheers.
Alright mate, while I was there I talked to blokes that lived on the island that have caught 10kilo bluebone beneath the pontoons in the marina and they said a lady may come by and ask you to leave, that is it. Where did you get the info that it's a 40k fine?
We are heading to Hammo early next year. What lure’s did you use?
i got so much fish there, biggest 83 diamond trevally

Fish early morning and and late evening, there is a rock spit at the entrance to the marina which is great for cod and gts.
