  • I have really enjoyed catching up on your comments on our latest videos! Thank you for your kind words!
    In this Hull UK Travel vlog I throw together all the footage from our last several weeks in England. We spent most of our time exploring Hull. Getting to know the sweet port town that we had never heard of before.
    We met some of the nicest people and had an amazing time in Hull.
    It's hard to travel with a three-year-old and work a US schedule in a smaller town. With the cold weather, the sun setting earlier, and stores closing earlier we faced a few convenience issues that we wouldn't have had in a bigger city... or if we had rented a car. Which we will do the next time we are here. We would come back to Hull though. Our AirBnB landlord became a great friend and there are many spots we got to know and feel so welcome in!
    We got sick on the way to the wedding we came to England to attend. That sucked and knocked us out for a few weeks. We took our time to heal and then spent a few slow weekends in Hull before we left for Spain.
    I hope you enjoy this vlog. We very much enjoyed England. We know we missed so many things. We hope to come back in a year or two and hopefully, if Romulus is older it will be easier to go explore more of the things on our list.
    Having a toddler forces you to put another human before your "wish list" of places to travel. Since we were not vacationing in England but rather we lived here for three months we really got to see a different version of the country we love than most tourists. We really felt at home here!
    We were SO sad to leave. But we will be back, we have so much more to explore in England!
    I would definitely suggest you become a member of my TH-cam family by subscribing.

    An American that's been to Hull!? I can't believe my eyes. I moved to the Midwest in 2016 and no one ever knows where Hull is lol. Most people assume I'm Scottish or Australian in the States haha.
    I've not been back home since I landed here in 2016 and to see Princess Quay so empty, with everything shut down was sad.

    Hi can I ask you a question? What made you go to Hull? I’m just curious. Do you know people there? Xx

    • @aprilbeck7915
      @aprilbeck7915 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They did initially choose Hull on the recommendation of a friend that lives there. However, they really like being a little closer to things without having a car, so next time, they might choose differently. Any suggestions?

    • @kaylawinter
      @kaylawinter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea, like my mom said, a good friend lives there. I had never heard of Hull before that. Next time, because of my work schedule, we would likely stay in Bath, Leeds, Liverpool, or Manchester if we're not in the South. Heck, I would love to spend a month in each of those! So many places on our list!

      @@aprilbeck7915 well I’m biased as I’m from Liverpool. I thought Hulk was an odd place but makes sense now knowing friends are there. Xx

      @@kaylawinter Those are great places to stay, bit cheaper than the London stuff, which is good, there is also the northeast, durham, newcatle if you want night life. durham is compact, great public transport and cheap to get around different place also.

    Britain is a walking country there are pathways across private land even planted fields. They are shown on ordinance survey maps. Some paths predate the Romans and bear no relation to modern boundary lines. Look for little green signposts and gates or stiles in hedges.

    • @kaylawinter
      @kaylawinter  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's so cool!! It was so nice to walk everywhere!!

      @@kaylawinter some of these rights of way go across some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain. If you pull up a map of public paths, rights of way and bridle paths....all of which you can access as a right you will find that only mountainous regions are not tightly criss crossed with paths. So Scotland and Wales primarily. The rules are you must always close gates, stay to the path. Do not leave any litter. If you have a dog they have to stay on lead if there are animals in the field also pick up dog poo if the field is used gor animals as for instance it can cause abortions in sheep if it contains a certain kind of parasite harmless to dogs.

      @Potato_salad345 Hull is like any other city around the world. There are several areas I'd recommend but there are also some streets where people don't take as much pride in cleaning up their trash... I don't think those streets make Hull any less desirable. If we could live there we would and in fact we're in Hull again right now!
