  • Over the past 3 months, what have our first 100 patients experienced with the clearview 3 lens?
    1 They see far/mid and near very well without glasses period.
    a. Most patients are able to see 20/20 far and 20/20 (J1+) near without glasses.
    b. What that means is that they can read their phone with normal font size, their computer and see to drive easily without glasses
    c. Nighttime vision is without halos. Patients may see some glare and nighttime artifacts but they are not as bothersome as the nighttime artifacts seen with diffractive multifocal lens implants
    Overall performance of the Clearview 3 lens has outperformed the vision quality with the Panoptix lens that we have had great success with over the past 4-5 years.

    I'm a 65 yo male patient of Dr Wong. He implanted the Clearview 3 in both my eyes 2-3 weeks ago. Dr Wong is GREAT! My vision was 20/150 and moderate cataracts. 3 mm pupil, low astigmatism. I was using 3.75 diopter readers all the time, everywhere I went. I could not believe the difference afterward. 20/20 near/far/intermediate vision. Night vision excellent and bright with only a little bright-light flaring ("angel wings"), no halos. Looking at stars and the Moon is awesome as well as I love Astronomy! The two issues I have now are (as stated in the video) I have a secondary "ghost" image on text especially with white text on black, which can make it a little distracting when reading; and I have many dark and translucent floaters which do get in the way of reading also. I am hoping to see Dr Wong's office or the Floater Doctor in Dallas/Ft Worth area about YAG laser treatment (Vitriolysis) for this issue.

      thanks for sharing. i'm seriously considering this lens, but how "bad" are the "angel wings"? i mean, are they close around the light source, or do they extend across half your field of vision, or they block out other object at night, etc? this is my biggest concern, as I have terrible glare and halos around lights (day or night, but nighttime driving is really awful) with some relatively advanced cataracts. thanks again for sharing!

    • @mdmorell
      @mdmorell หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johndoe-ep7qk They aren't bad. Just a little flare on each side kinda like a faint pair of wings. It doesn't obstruct anything and not distracting. And it's only on really bright points of light. And not everyone complains of them, like the Dr said. Not everyone notices the ghosting around text like I do either. Still WAAAAY better than the alternative, let me tell you.
      I love seeing like I did when I was in my 30's!!! Wooohoo!

    Dr. Wong just placed a Clearview 3 in my left eye a few days ago. I traveled from Oregon to Texas to have the procedure. Austin Eye was worth the trip. The staff and facilities are excellent and everything has been as expected. My vision is clearing daily and I expect I'll soon be able to report similar outcomes to those of the patients in the videos. So far it looks good.

    OMG! I wish so much they had this when I had my cataracts done 3 years ago. I live in Canada and chose lenses not covered by my medical for which I paid extra. I am so unhappy with the results - negative dysfotopsia in my left eye, unclear distance vision in my right eye, floaters, etc. I never wore glasses until my late 30’s and, now, in 70’s wanted so much not to have to wear glasses which was not the case. Sad for me but happy for future cataract patients.

    Since two weeks I have the Tecnis Puresee EDOF IOL's. My eyes still are adapting and every day I am seeing a bit better. I can read my phone from 30 cm distance and During day - time, I can see perfectly far away. It is in the night setting or indoors with a lot of light sources that my eyes are still adapting, but I see slow progress.
    The starbursts that occured at lights further than 3 meters in the beginning, now only show when they are 10 - 20 meters away, so I am confident that once my eyes have completely adapted to these IOL's I will be able to see everything sharp without glasses.
    Maybe only when there is really really fine print or when soldering electronic components. But in daily life, it looks like I will be glasses free.
    Unfortunately I can find almost nothing about the Tecnis Puresee lenses. What is your opinion about these EDOF lenses?

    Hi Dr, thanks for sharing this awesome video. I had the panoptix lens on my left eye a year ago, and LAL lens (distance) on right eye this year. The left eye with panoptix was fine for the first 3 months until a yag was preformed, but then a month later after the second yag, my distance vision gotten blurry (worst than ever). My close up vision is still good 20/20. Is it risky to do the IOL exchange after 2 years later or do you think it can be done? I already had two YAG's preformed on the left eye and not sure if the PCO/bag can hold IOL? Or should I leave it as is since I still have good reading vision with panoptix and great distance vision with the LAL lens on the right eye?

As per now, I only found one clinic in EU who offers it, and it is classified as a "special IOL" they don't even have it in their inventory.
