Nice technical driving. I often see people trying to brute-force their way up and that's how most accidents happen. It's better to climb for 2 hours and not break anything than climb for half an hour and grind down your differential.
We headed out early to do some harder runs that morning. Yes, the built fjs did climb this later. Was entertaining for sure. Yeah I miss that I beam front end.

@@Larcona_ you mean the vacuum pos? I swapped to manual hubs as soon as I got it. No issues. I had to replace the hub assemblies not too long ago because after 220k and 20 years a wheel bearing finally gave out. Other than basic maintenance the things been rock solid
No the stock shafts were fine after the lift. After I installed the tcase doubler, I had a custom rear driveshaft built and I built an extended front driveshaft. I sold this truck a couple years ago and the new owner still wheels it hard and no issues.
A ford ranger is probably one of the top 5 best midsize trucks out there i mean you can do so much to them and their builds aint that expensive as toyota so id take a ranger anyday and im not just saying that because i own one. Toyotas really are over hyped but they do have great lower gear ratios and torque

I have one sitting now , I'd like to find an expedition or explorer front and rear diffs for it , it'll make it wider and alot more flexible

It's actually called twin traction beam (TTB). Traction meaning it's a drive axle. Twin I beam is 2wd. I had an '86 Ranger. I miss that little truck.
