Once a kid sees and rides in an Italian sports car they’re hooked. When I was 12 I got taken on a long ride in southern Germany on the autobahn and on mountain roads in a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV and I don’t think I ever recovered from that serious blow to my eyes and ears.
italian sports cars are cool but they never hooked me in the way mercedes did, the germans know wtf they're doing man. the engines are so well made, so fast, and the interiors are so opulent. mercedes cars are works of art
Coolest cousin ever! I gave my cousin a top-down ride in my Miata near her home in Charlottesville (we used to live in Hingham MA)...when I was 59 and she was 58 LOL. Not quite the same as taking a young car enthusiast to a killer car show in perfect weather. Which I have done locally in the ATL, the kid even liked my old-school jams on CD LOL
I remember growing up a really cool dude in the neighborhood had a bunch of sweet cars. He had a Christmas party at his place and took myself and my dad in a drive around the neighborhood in his 1980s Lincoln Continental Limo. I was maybe 10? He had a Black Diablo and a 427 Cobra (replica) too. I'm now 35, and I still remember the ride in the Limo.

Man, if there's a car brand to get people hooked on cars its without a doubt Lamborghini. The first supercar I ever rode in was a Gallardo when I was 12 or 13, truly solidified my love for cars and really strengthened my love for Lamborghinis in particular. Glad you were able to share this experience with him!

the LP-700 is such an awesome piece of kit, nothing looks like it and it sings when you get on it, albeit not quite as good as the Murcie. The MC20 is an impresive bit of kit too
@hexagonosaurus5848 true but a V12 that is 6.6 Litres and makes 900nm or thereabout is astonishing to experience. Especially in a boat. The front just pitches up under acceleration, and it's so eventful
Owning fast cars is not worth it in America. I can't imagine owning a fast car in any other country besides Germany, where you often have no speed limits. Driving my 5 series G30 was annoying in Switzerland and Holland because of the speed limits and the first thing I did after crossing the boarder to Germany was to accelerate to 200km/h.

V12 supercars are something else. You cant really compare a 5000lbs awd turbo sedan and an Aventador/F12/812/Vantage.
