Great video of testing the old and new brakes and clear explanation of the Lippert axels! I think we need these on our 5th wheel before we take our summer vacation!
i have a 14k maxxhd trailer with standard electric drum brakes, i load it with 6.5 tons of rock everytime and roll out at around 26k lbs. i have never had the brakes not work for me. Yes hydraulic disk brakes are going to stop better but i don't need my dump trailer holding back my truck.
These are under slung axles. The way the factory designed it. Most trailer axles are this way. It’s better geometry and reduces axle wrap under hard braking. Plus the trailer would be too tall if they were spring over. It adds about 5 additional inches in height. Thanks Brian
Disc brake conversion kit not available on their website. In fact no electric disc brakes kits - just electric drum brakes. Got a part number of manufacturer for the kit?
@@tickcreekranch It's not indexed on their site. You can't even search for it with their own SKU. But searching the internet for "5200#-8000# HYB DISC BRAKE CONV KIT (TANDEM AXLE) 5 BOLT BRAKE FLANGE 1/2" STUD" will pull up (a) link. Don't know if it's the same thing as yours? Looks like a great upgrade in terms of safety and maintenance, but Lippert is kinda falling over its own feet here, lol

I think so too!
love that your still rocking the Z tag on the flatbed
Shhhh:)
A great storm or bunker. I'm been thinking on one for years now. I'm still leaning on the shovel. Ain't dug shit yet lol
Did you have the trailer lifted at the rear by lifting the dump bed onto wooden blocks?
@@dk_719 yes, we used the hydraulics to lift the trailer by blocking the rear of the dump body. Worked slick
@@tickcreekranch good to know. I've seen it done with tilt decks but never dumps. That's how I'll raise mine off the ground.

Awesome video guys!! 😊
Thanks “a lama”:)
22k lbs?? Talk about a stress test! Looks like a damn good upgrade!
Stops so good…
how come you did not put the springs on top of the axles instead of on the bottom like they are then
