- Join me, the Crystal Collector, and my dog Matrix as we head back to Haunted Ridge Rocks in Cadet, Missouri! This is one of our favorite spots, and for several years now, it’s been a huge success. Every visit, crystal enthusiasts leave with their vehicles loaded with stunning quartz crystals. What makes this location truly unique is the incredible variety of crystal colors and shapes, all thanks to the layers of laced agate that form beneath the quartz. Some get sold and others just display. Ive taken to slabbing some for the crazy lace agate.

Some of the nicer pieces are worth $200-$800. There is a market for different kinds of specimens from sites like this.

I love to see what you find, but watching also depresses me because there is no where near me that I can find any kind of crystals, and there is no way I'll be visiting anywhere I could find them. I love Japan, but it sucks for crystals!

I never get tired of looking at that stuff! Crystal hunting red mud is... good red mud!
I thought long on this comment,,, I know the area. That is the biggest lead dist. Largest mine etc. The crystals you are digging are Dresser minerals from the mines. In other words waste from the mines. So with that being said there is NO pockets you are digging the waste piles. It is ok there is some cool stuff right there and easy to get but you are not digging pockets......Those crystals come from 100s of feet below the surface. It is like that around Boone terr and the Big river area. Like I said the worlds largest lead mine. at one time or still is. Just a bit of history.
The only thing that place has been needing is an onsite campground or at least for your event allow visitors to park overnight. It's a whole lot of unnecessary driving back and forth from the event to wherever you can find a cheap place to stay that isn't all booked up for miles. Just saying.
Do you ever run into ancient artifacts from previous civilizations?
Id give anything to be able to go! My husband and I live in wv and I doubt he'll bring me that far😢
