The median, all ages included, is 120 000 dollars. If you're worth 2.5 million dollars you're in the top 4%. Also, the threshold to be in the top 5% and the top 1% is amongst the highest in the world (even if rich countries like France, Germany or the Uk, just having 2.5 million dollars as a net worth lets you cross the top 1% threshold)
You guys are doing great for financial community!!! NW of 1.2M. Just turned 30 last year. Its good to know that I was on higher spectrum for 20s, but now I am on lower spectrum of 30s
@@fnamelname7296That’s all fine and dandy but don’t get lost chasing numbers on a screen. Use some money and enjoy it on things you want and or experiences.
Lol yeah I just turned 32 and in a similar position. Felt good when I saw the 20s and then was like damn I need to get things moving when they showed 30s. But to be fair an extra 7 years can do a lot!
Wow! That’s an interesting statistic. I wonder what field the majority of that 1% is in…probably CEOs and Entrepreneurs…but I bet a few specific areas within that are yielding a lot of those earners 🤔 Do you have the data on that?
Top one percentage of each age group is going to be dominated by those aged 29,39,49etc. Figures are of limited use if you are, say 32. Could use the 20’s figure or the 30’s… neither are much use
These median are distorted by very wealthy people,. It would be more useful to know the minimum to get into the top 1% - that would be a reachable goal for financial mutants. I think the overall 1% starts at about $7-8 million....and goes way up.

What field are you in?

I am slightly above $7M at 50. I was close to 1% just few months back. Now I have to double my net worth in the next decade to be top 1%! Damn it! 😬

Was doing great for a 55 year old and now I see I need to double NW to be in 1%. An always moving end goal.
You are in the top 2%, still very wealthy.
More interested in the median of the average American.
That's on their channel too!

The median of the average?

But is that calculated for one person or does that include married couples?
Normally this is the whole household income. So more than likely married. Most data is that way. Hope this clarifies things

You can always average between the values to get a pretty good, rough number.
Good luck
Crazy
Are you and Bo one percenters 😎😎😎
Great question.
Brian is almost 50, I don’t think he’s worth 16 million. :)
Only 8% of American adults are millionaires. Only 9% of Americans own a $1mm or more valued home.
I wish we knew the number without the Forbes 100 skewing it haha
Leads with the Median, provides the 1% values … Sell out to the Algorithm much?
woohoo!
This close up got me thinking. Does Brian get Botox? 🤔 He doesn’t look like he’s in his 50s.
Damn. 33 and only half way…
Don't think this information is relevant to most Americans.
He never said it was. Go check out other shorts for something more relevant for you.

The median is not distorted by outliers by definition.
This is median, not mean. Mean is distorted by outliers while median is not.
good point, the median of the top 1% is just the top 0.5%
It certainly could be clearer.
