Questions to begin with: 1) were these recorded while both mics had identical settings? Any chance the recording settings were not identical to begin with? Just curious. 2) can you get out of usb+ as clear recordings as from usb(not plus) provided that you preset usb(not plus) settings onto usb+? thanks.
Awesome video, nice and simple and straight to the point. Excellent
🙏🏽
Microphone review with awful sound quality?
as is tradition
😂😂😂
I like it like that 😂
Well... Better than the other way round
Listening on airpods pro 2, the old one is without a doubt the winner, being clear and transparent. The new USB+ sounds very bad in and muddy in comparison. Are you sure you did not mix them up?
According to the Datasheet on the Rode web site the frequenz repose of the NT-USB+ ist more natural, means more linear than the frequenz repose of the old NT-USB with up to +7,5 db for higher frequenzes (5000-7000 Hz). For this reason the old one may sound sometimes brighter (clearer?) but causes in may case problems with sybillents (s, ts, z, sh...). I own only the old one and now I am trying to make it soung more linear using an EQ because otherwise my "s" and "sh"s are to harsh.
wow, for me the old one sound more clear and bright, the new one sound very neutral and foggy....but I listen with a very bad headphone, this could explain my problems
NT-USB is the winner, no way I will swap it for +.
👍🏽
Damn, the new one sounds so much smoother, super noticeable difference imo. Thank you for the comparison. Great voice btw
🙏🏽
I don't get why they couldn't call it the NT 2
Yes, it could be an option.
Sorry man, I counted a lot when I noticed this video, but in practice it's quite disappointing. Firstly, how can you evaluate the quality of microphones when the quality of your reconrding is very low (I mean the audio made with this "other" microphone than rode). Secondly there is visible difference in audio level between nt usb+ and nt usb. It should be improved as different audio level have impact on how we perceive audio. In your video older one sounds better but if you equalise the volume, both sounds quite similar.
thank you for your input! informative! Do you have any comments about Rode software support? It seems it's not that useful if similar processing would be done in other software.
new one is way too heavy on the bass in this video. Unless you're listening to it from completely flat studio headphones it will be very boomy. Can easily adjust it, but then you need to download another piece of software. For most people having a mic that sounds good out of the box will be much better imo
Thanks for your feedback
Hi there, thanks for the video. I’m struggling with my rode nt usb. I’m connecting to iPad Pro 3rd generation with genuine Apple adaptor. Trying to record in GarageBand but not picking up mic. Any ideas?
It’s strange!! Try changing the adapter
The older one sounds better in this video.
To be honest I also felt it after listening to it again, old one has a crisp base, need one has a loudness and software tweaks
“Unboxing is quite simply” 😂😅
TH-camrs review how hard cardboard box entry is now? 😂
The first one sounds better what the heck
Hello. I understand that it (Rode NT USB+) comes with an USB-C to USB-C cable. Can it be used with an USB-C to USB-A cable?
With an adapter
Why an adapter why can't you put the type c into the mic and normal usb into the pc?? If you just buy a usb type c cable to usb type a
@@thundermc8991 yes, it should work fine this way
No way my Rode NT USB sounds brighter than the new NT USB +
It’s quite debatable actually, but both sound different when you listen carefully
@TechWorld786 which one do you think its good for singing? Rode NT USB+ or At2020 USB X
@@delcastilloian None of these.
For singing the NTA or NT1 with a decent audiointerface. Alone because of the drivers.
The best sounding usb mic by the way is clearly and i am very sure of that is the samson g track pro.
Mam pytanie. Ciekawe jak wg tego wypadlby podmic usb
Nie rozumiem pytanie i dlaczego piszes po polsku?
No offense but the voice on this video is overdriven. This makes me suspect that you didn't use identical settings on both mics which would explain why the NT-USB+ sounds clearly worse than its predecessor.
Sir which one should I buy Rode nt usb or rode usb+
Both are great always new one has better features
quale migliore
Why does the NT USB sound much better? NT USB+ sounds really compressed.
The newer one sounds very damped. Not that clear. The older one is way clearer and has more detail in the Voice
It's strange, even I feel that now the older one has a better base
The old one sounds way better
I thought so too, I kept the old one and gave the new one back
and then what is the real difference between RODE NT-USB+ and RODE NT-USB?
NT USB has 16 bit analog to digital conversion and NT USB+ has 24 bit also you can use rode central app and rode connect app with new plus version only, the sound is quite different on both as new one has a updated interface.
@@TechWorld786 Thank you very much🙋🏻♂️
These mics break mounts and I have made a fix for them - see video and description.
