I think we're all agreed, Elijah Wood demonstrated some seriously solid taste in music here. Would love to see Amoeba get him back 10 years later, wonder where his tastes have gone and what he makes of streaming culture.
Dude I wasn’t expecting the directions this went. He’s such an introspective guy, I love his little spiel at the end about the culture of listening to music and how it’s changed.
Elijah Wood has the most eclectic and musically interesting picks of any other episode I've seen, the man is obviously musically inclined , at the very least in the sense that he understands that good music transcends specific styles and genres. 1:35 - I'd get that just for the cover alone, but it seems it's not available on iTunes, let alone in my area's only remaining record shop.
you know, I actually think Frodo AND Harry are pretty good actors.Frodo can play a great psychopath.Have you seen "Maniac'? He did an awesome job in that and, yes, he does have great taste in music. Roky Erickson ROOLS.
***** Of course yea. I do it a lot of the time on my Ipod/a CD in a CD player. It's just much less of a hassle than throwing a vinyl on, and a lot easier to pause and come back to than leaving a vinyl out.
***** It's not the same man. You feel an extra level of connection with vinyl, you simply can't achieve that with MP3s. And I say this as someone who listens to MP3s 95% of the time
I always love Elijah Wood! He's just so down-to-earth and I've been really obsessed with him when I was in high school. He looks so handsome with his sweet blue eyes.
I appreciate his view on the process of listening to vinyl. there is a certain sincerity to putting on a record and really appreciating the music, especially in an age where everything is at our disposal right at our finger tips.
Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood joined he remaining members of the Small Faces to form the Faces. The album he’s holding is the North American issue. Steve Marriot was the singer of the Small Faces.
Gal Costa is just about the best tropicalia you can listen to. Didn't Tom Jobim say she was the finest tuned instrument ever? Love all the rest, I'll definitely check it out.
Ok so Frodo is into my absolute fav band of all time; my precioussssss *13th Floor Elevators*! That does it, I'm calling him a cool dude. There's no turning back. *He is a cool dude*. There, I said it and I meant it.
First Step was actually the debut by Faces not Small Faces. The US versions confusingly had Small Faces on the cover when Steve Marriott had already left for Humble Pie and been replaced by Stewart. Found that quite interesting
I must say that this has changed my opinion of Elijah Wood. I always assumed he was a douche, but after watching this video I actually respect the guy. He knows his shit, and he picked a few killer albums.
I saw him talking about the Smashing Pumpkins on an episode of The Osbourne's (he went to a concert with Kelly and Jack, I think) and I thought 'Man, he sounds like he's way into music.' Theeen I saw him in one of the Lord of the Rings extras with his GIANT CD collection, flipping through the booklet while talking about listening to music during the Fellowship's hair and makeup. He seems really really cool, a true and passionate music fan.
wow!! I've really got to check out that soviet funk...just that little clip that was played during this interview was enough to wet my whistle. sounded jazzy and funky as hell and I look forward to having a deeper listen. and the small faces are brilliant too.
I'm a fan of Elijah, as an audiophile. I saw a photo of him in front of his system one time, he had Klipschhorn speakers with Mcintosh gear, very cool.
I really agree with what he said about how listening to digital music is almost schizophrenic in a way and that we don't really pay attention. I've only collected records for the last year and a half or so but it really changes how I listen to music. If somebody asked me about a band that I've only listened to online, the best answer I could give them is that I like them or I don't. When I put a record on, that's when I am really listening and it is committed to memory. Oftentimes, digital music just falls to the background for me with the rare exception when I repeat a song for like 5 hours (happens more often than I'd like to admit!). This is a really old video but I felt like commenting anyways:p
The cast of LOTR are so into music! Billy sings in his band, Elijah mixes music (DJ), Dom dances and sings (mostly with help of specific beverages).... They are all living and doing what they want to do! For that, I applaud them! :)
Per the Raincoats: Ingrid Weiss was the drummer for the Raincoats. Her 3 children with husband Graeme Durham, are a great little group called Kitty, Daisy and Lewis. Nice to see that someone is still interested in the Raincoats.
I remember reading an interview with Elijah in Rolling Stone? I think it was; where I found out about Smashing Pumpkins and Queens of the Stone Age from him and those were the first two records I ever bought myself! I would follow Master Frodo’s music taste to the end!
Elijah Wood made me a big fan of the band Death. Not the metal band but the band of brothers from Detroit. If you haven't heard them, do it. I had insomnia one night & saw the documentary on the band. That morning at work I ordered my vinyl copy. It has a home on my turntable. Take care and stay safe everyone 😷
What a really nice guy he is! So humble and with so much warmth. When I showed how he responds to the interviewer at the end, he said "he's truly a hobbit inside and out."
At 0:16, I was immediately distracted by that Ulver album in the background. I turned off the video after that and listened to my Ulver boxset, including the tape. One day I might watch this video again but, probably not.
I'm Thai, and I know Elijah from The Lord of The Rings. I like him since the first time I saw him on the film. I think he has such perfect beautiful eyes. Actually most of my favorite stars are Asian because I prefer Asian looks than Western, such like smooth skin and their baby face. But for Elijah, he's no.1 of my favorite western actors. His eyes and face are kind of my ideal.
I think we're all agreed, Elijah Wood demonstrated some seriously solid taste in music here. Would love to see Amoeba get him back 10 years later, wonder where his tastes have gone and what he makes of streaming culture.
these video's are changing my life
+wwjd0723 I know, right? So much music to check out.
Then you' need to get more
More like "What's in my Baggins?"
kkkkkkk
Ruben Ahumada I love you
shame on you.
Nice :D
But what does he find when the bag ends?
. . . i'm sorry :'(.
The fact that he picked a Gal Costa record is really cool. Love Gal Costa.
Chachi Shapiro I was surprised that he knew Gal Costa
Eu amo a música dela❤❤
That really surprised me. Que legal!
Muitos gringos amam música brasileira dos anos 60
I flipped out tbh
Elijah Wood has some great taste, who would have known that he was into psych rock?
maybe cuz he smokes a lot of weed and probably dabbles with lsd and shrooms here and there
He is an avid 45´s collector
yes, your name suits you. elijah is a smart fella
Have you seen Wilfred? He clearly has an opened third eye.

I like this guy, in Hollywood you don't get that many cultivated & educated actors with good taste & class, keep your cool Elijah
You know a lot of Hollywood actors?
@@thegamedudeguy you know Hollywood us full of pedophiles and child abuse?
Frodo knows his shit
right thats what i was thinking oh shit frodo is a huge music buff
He picked a record he had no idea about based on the sleeve ...
Dude I wasn’t expecting the directions this went. He’s such an introspective guy, I love his little spiel at the end about the culture of listening to music and how it’s changed.
His quote at the end about "devoting" yourself to an album on vinyl is actually really good, and true.
So glad that he mentioned Finders Keepers Records....truly English and tasteful
Daniel Radcliffe has great taste in music!!
thas funny
More like frodo has great taste in music.
you know, I actually think Frodo AND Harry are pretty good actors.Frodo can play a great psychopath.Have you seen "Maniac'? He did an awesome job in that and, yes, he does have great taste in music. Roky Erickson ROOLS.
Garrett Swenson Why do people like you always confuse Elijah Wood and Daniel Radcliffe with Ramsay Bolton?
Jah Hey, I don't know if you couldn't tell by the upvotes but it was a joke. Sarcasm, you know?
Those eyes man. It's like I am staring into an endless ocean. Beautiful man, beautiful tastes. \m/
...said a guy called BrutalOppressor :D
Despairine you sure It's a guy?
love what he says about playing records at the end very true.
***** Of course yea. I do it a lot of the time on my Ipod/a CD in a CD player. It's just much less of a hassle than throwing a vinyl on, and a lot easier to pause and come back to than leaving a vinyl out.

WHAT HAS IT GOT IN ITS BAGGINSES?
Eggses precious
Gal Costa ❤ que bom saber que o Elijah gosta de uma cantora Brasileira
Gal Costa is like one of the most gorgeous voice u'll ever hear in your life.
I always love Elijah Wood! He's just so down-to-earth and I've been really obsessed with him when I was in high school. He looks so handsome with his sweet blue eyes.

Lets all face it. We are just staring at his eyes...
Elijah Wood is a cool, smart dude.
These What's In My Bag videos are the predecessors of Criterion's closet. Amazing stuff.
We love their closet videos. Great stuff!
love me Some Elijah Wood, He's Not only a Beautiful Talented actor but also An Smart Cool Guy
He's really informed.
If you say so.
It’s cool how he’s not pretentious but he actually really just loves music
I know everyone already knows it but my goodness, his eyes!!! Mesmerising.
Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood joined he remaining members of the Small Faces to form the Faces. The album he’s holding is the North American issue. Steve Marriot was the singer of the Small Faces.
I love the artwork on The Raincoats record. ^_^
seems like a very humble dude, i like him alot, a successful actor who remains human.
elijah seems like a real down to earth dude with a dope taste in music. never would of thought haha
he is really chill guy with great music taste
His face is perfect
His eyes... So beautiful! And good taste for music!!! ❤️
Gal Costa is just about the best tropicalia you can listen to.
Didn't Tom Jobim say she was the finest tuned instrument ever?
Love all the rest, I'll definitely check it out.
Never underestimate a hobbit
surprisingly one of the better w.i.m.b. episodes. very insightful great pick ups. and can really relate.
How many of these records are actually for Wilfred?
+William We know that Wilfred basicaly picked all of them because he likes them. That is why Elijah can not know how they sound. :D
+Lars Nick Except for the cat record x)
William Z who is Wilfred?
bruno3833 A tv show
God Elijah Wood why do you have to be so cool
selda bagcan at the end, amazing shit right there
+Skyler H. I thought I heard Turkish! I'm really glad I came to this video, I've been tryna find some good turkish music for a while now.
Hell yes!!
@Tobias Biber you happen to know what song it is? cant find it now
@@SRartz25 it`s Selda - Yaylalar
Ok so Frodo is into my absolute fav band of all time; my precioussssss *13th Floor Elevators*!
That does it, I'm calling him a cool dude. There's no turning back.
*He is a cool dude*.
There, I said it and I meant it.
Love Elijah Wood even more now! Psychedelic Rock all day! 13th Floor Elevators!
what a charming guy, and he's introduced me to some music I really need to check out
Props to Amoeba for putting Selda's song in the background in the end!
Wow, Frodo has freakin awesome taste
Elijah is a true fan of music , Frodo Rocks!
First Step was actually the debut by Faces not Small Faces. The US versions confusingly had Small Faces on the cover when Steve Marriott had already left for Humble Pie and been replaced by Stewart. Found that quite interesting
That confused me too..
What a great guy! I love people who are passionate about music and also diverse in their tastes.
Oh my God! His face and mind is so fucking beautiful...
Yaylalar the son omg I remember my grandmother used to sing and listen to that song wow

frodo get some balls buy some metal start with black sabbath
He’s actually a super nice guy. He’s often a guest on podcasts I listen to and is amazingly sweet and genuine.
If I remember correctly, he made (co made) a documentary on the proto metalband Death some years ago.
He has a reputation for being one of the friendliest people in Hollywood.
This is one of the best "What's In a My Bag?" I've seen. It goes to show you that Amoeba's variety and selection is unreal. :)
He is so cool. And people please stop calling the man Frodo!!!
Nice musical taste and his eyes are incredible, so beautiful :3
Good taste in music and I love that breakwater release the beast.
What an introspective person. And great taste in music.
I love Lij!...since 2002!
wow!! I've really got to check out that soviet funk...just that little clip that was played during this interview was enough to wet my whistle. sounded jazzy and funky as hell and I look forward to having a deeper listen. and the small faces are brilliant too.

Mykey City yes I believe they did. elijah is a fan of hers I believe

i just found out through sharam, great artist!
Yep yayalar
One of his latest movies "Come to daddy" was insanely awesome.
I have a lot more respect for him now that he bought the !3th Floor Elevators.
I've always respected Elijah since I saw him at a WEEN show it the Fillmore in SF around 1999-2000.
the ring is in his bag
Lmao
i'm in love with this record nerd.
*traces Elijah Wood's face on screen with my finger**looks directly into your eyes*Terrific
Damn, that 'Release the beast' by Breakwater song is great! I'm discovering a loooot of music with these videos, thanks Amoeba!
Awesome! We actually discover a lot of music making these episodes too. Thanks for watching.
he has the most beautiful eyes!

4:57 I had no idea Daft Punk sampled that, it's amazing. I need to check it out.
Great music and thank you for producing "The Greasy Strangler"! Keep it up!
Who knew he had such good taste in music.
FUN FACT: After meeting Ozzy Osbourne in the Osbournes Season 1 episode 2. Elijah shakes Ozzy's hand and sniffs it afterwards
What a really nice guy he is! So humble and with so much warmth. When I showed how he responds to the interviewer at the end, he said "he's truly a hobbit inside and out."
Small Faces? Elijah I always loved you.

Great actor, great music taste, funny personality, what does Elijah Wood NOT have?
I dig how hes one of the few people on this show who admitted to saying i have no idea what this is, but it looks neat so lets give it a shot.
No fucking idea about that music, but those eyes.
He understands me "The 70s were so rad - ah, Funk music!"
I completely agree :)
he will always and only be Frodo in my eyes
I'm Thai, and I know Elijah from The Lord of The Rings.

his music taste is smooth as eggs
I had no idea Elijah was into music. Pretty darn cool.
Did anyone ever pick The Fall on this?
nath909 parquet courts did the wonderful and frightening world of the fall
He's great, and I think our tastes are similar. I've got some new music to listen to, so thanks Amoeba
I’ve had a huge crush on him since he was in flipper lol he’s so cute and pretty
One of the best episodes. Like you, Elijah. 😀
