I feel bad for the team that got the 2 or 300 penalty points, but at least they mightve set a record that can't be beat!

Lot of tippy robots this year.
You shoulda seen Power Up, that was the year of timber
Due to the common idea of an elevator and claw, the majority of robots are top-heavy, making it even harder and riskier for the drivers to maneuver around. I think Jack’s design (team 2910) is very creative because even though the claw extends to reach the high grid, when they are driving around and intaking, their robot is not top-heavy.
@@kiara21182910's robot is very well designed in this respect. We were on alliance 1 with them in Week 1 (2930), and no matter how hard they got hit driving around I never saw their wheels leave carpet when their arm was stowed.
The charge station is a perfect wedge to flip robots if you go too fast. A couple of finals matches were won or lost because of tips on the corner of the charge station.

3:21, that's our robot with the claw completely hanging, the welds snapped and we frantically screwed it on with self tappers lol, held up for the rest of the competition

@@Sarahbuchler05it went alright, got the creativity award again at Kentwood. Ended with an even record 12-12 We unfortunately are not going to states
2:42 shout out to my amazing operator who figured out how to use the arm to right the robot, Andy my driver for pulling off such a a smooth triple balance! This was their first ever event, and they did fantastic!

3:31 Got to see that one in person since I was competing in that tournament. It was insane how the far left red robot was barely on the charge station but it was still balanced, the top view does not do it justice. My team is at 4:08 in the blue loading station

At 2:17 when the robot levels the charge station at the last second that is our robot. I’m actually the head driver and all I heard was everyone yelling forward! 😂
i got to see 0:32 in person (i competed in it) the greybots popped off

You build your robot with a high center of gravity with a fast moving game dont be shocked when you tip easily... smart teams built a short robot to avoid that from occurring! No reason to build a robot that's taller than the top node.
