Interesting how the engine sounds like that. I've honestly never heard it before.

High-ish bypass turbofans. Sounds like a small airliner. 😁

@@happycanayjian1582 I believe they actually have the same engines as a CRJ.

They do have a distinctive sound don’t they? 🤔

In 1998, while deployed to Yakima Training Center, my signal platoon covered three hilltops with VHF emplacements for 33 days. It was a static setup providing communications for umpires with no movement involved. Convoy from Ft. Lewis to YTC, set up comms and tentage, and then... nothing. Nothing but feeding the generators and shuttling bad food twice a day. With weekly shower and laundry runs to spice it up. Watching mice multiply in the mess tent was the main entertainment. A few days later, the games began. All three sites watched A-10s run up and down the valleys before us, attacking armored convoys and emplacements. A-10s would regularly make runs on our comm sites, strafing our hilltops. It was like a private air show day after day, both A-10s and Apaches. Watching them on live fire ranges was amazing. It's not a sound you will ever forget. 33 days of scorching temps, bad food, no beer, no TV, endless dust with only one shower a week, and mice armageddon, and it was one of the best deployments of my career. Stay safe.
