Clear focus hunting issues, mainly affecting the background (distracting pulsations in the purple lighting) from 6:10 when you switched to vlogging from it.
I suspect this is actually due to the Product Showcase Setting being on. That turns on object tracking so if anything is held up in front of his face, it'll switch focus to the object, and as a result the focus won't stay locked on the face/eye.
I literally clicked on this video to find out more about this camera. Not only did I wind up buying the camera (using the affiliate link of course) but I kept pausing the video to buy more stuff as you recommended it. Sony needs to send you everything they got sir, you are very effective!! 👍🏾
You'll need longer arms if you want to hold the camera and vlog, or get a smaller head, especially if using electronic stabilization. A 16mm equivalent lens would have been nice.
The background blur probably wouldn’t work to well won’t their background blur function. It would be possible to zoom in to have a better blur but I think that would defeat the easy usability Sony is trying to achieve
The point about talking to a small camera or phone vs a big setup is totally me all the time lol... Talking to a phone is so much easier than a big intimidating setup!
Thanks Manny. I think your input about the intimidation factor of having a larger setup is what's been keeping me from creating. Im going to give it a try and see what happens with the ZV-1 for a BBQ/cooking vlog.
Top quality cameras for sure! I just bought the Canon G7X Mark III yesterday. I love the aperture of 1.8 and the 3 stop ND filter it has plus the wireless flash transmitter.
the lens is not 24mm at the widest but 26mm equivalent. The ZV-1 widest actual focal length is 9.4mm vs the RX100x models whose lens is 8.8mm at the widest. it is a almost 2mm focal length difference in full-frame terms.
In a lot of ways, the ZV-1 is actually better than the RX100. There are a couple of limitations when using it as a vlogging camera, but it works beautifully, and as an in-studio TH-cam camera, it's absolutely AMAZING value for money. Anyone looking to start a channel should snag one of these. Manny makes a great point as well - the ZV-1 is not at all intimidating. I tried shooting with my A7iii and I was so worried about dropping it or someone snatching it out of my hand, I was wondering if I was in focus or not, I was worried it was going to over heat...I couldn't even get my words out. With the ZV-1 it really did feel like I was just walking around with a phone, chatting, doing an IG Live or something - very low-stress, which allowed me to just go off the top of the head and come across way more naturally.
No they did in fact change the colors in the newer Sony's and especially this one. They made a point to make them better. And I used to have a mark V and did indeed hate the colors lol. But am now kinda intrigued to see how much better they may have gotten

So, Sony has created 4 years later a camera with a smaller sensor than a Lumix G7 or G85 (released in 2016), now with overheating and battery duration issues. Great for Sony, they have listened to vloggers! :)
Stabilisation isn’t good enough when you’re actually walking if you put it on a tripod and film then you’ll be a good camera especially you can film unlimited amount of time this is a feature which is quite useful in some situations.
You get a like a subscribe just for using the camera we’re trying to see reviews on to actually record yourself! Made the change later in the video, but you’ve made the change! Every other video I’ve clicked on for this camera, at least so far, did not record themselves making the review for this camera with the ZV1 itself. It would just be 10-15 second records here and there throughout there video. Thank you!
As much as I’ve been like everyone else who’s been waiting and waiting and waiting for Sony to put a flip out screen in a decent camera, I’ve recently realized I don’t need it as much as I think I do. Once you are able to hack things by picking out some lineup spots along your lens and body while vlogging, its really not hard to keep yourself in frame. And it might even be easier to talk because you aren’t as distracted by the image of yourself on the flip out screen. If anything, I’ve found that the downside to vlogging with my A73 is the weight factor! Especially when using a gimbal. So that might be my biggest reason for giving this camera a shot (and yes I’d still love to see and use that flippy screen lol)
If you had a choice and you already have a crane M2 gimbal....Would you purchase the Zv1 or would you purchase a larger gimbal Weebill S or Ronin SC to use with Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras?

All the reviews are saying this is a 24-70mm equivalent lens but its focal length ranges from 9.4mm to 25.7mm; whereas the RX100V goes from 8.8 mm to 25.7mm. My RX100vii goes from 9.0 to 72mm. Sony says they're all 24mm at their widest, but there is a .6mm difference between the ZV1 and RX100v and a .4mm difference between the ZV1 and the RX100vii. I don't see how they can all be 24mm equivalents.
Good video, to define a team to film it is more than clear to me that it would be the ZV1, but it is not clear to me if the RX100 V, regardless of having a flash, if it would be superior or not to the ZX1 (they are very similar in price today day, for that I consult and thus define the purchase of a compact "premium")

I love how people need compact camera that could fit into a pocket but complain about focal range. Wider than this that would make it size around a6400. This one packs many feature into a small body. If it was with 16mm and f1.8, it will be much bigger. I prefer tighter focal range rather than the sacrifice of size.

Well the mark iii doesn't focus so everyone recommends the g7x mark ii over the iii but I think the zv1 is a big upgrade and the iii is a downgrade in my opinion for video
Seems really Nice! I do use a a7iii when vloging and recording videos and like you say its big and kind of awkward to Wall around with. I also do have a g7x mk2 that is small and Nice but this zv1 is really a upgrade to the g7x because i think The external mic option is a must, espwcially when its windy!

So i feel with the product focus features, beauty skin smoothening features and screen flip feature this Sony camera would be the ideal choice for me. @@s5hanom979 I'd go with the A6100 because it's amazing for both video & photography (I have the A6400, which is pretty much the same camera). The biggest thing is you'll be able to change out lenses which is monumental when compared to the ZV-1.
Question, I don't show my face when I record, I record walking trips for some friends to take them places they've never been. I have a Samsung S20 and I just bought this camera, why does it seem that the S20 is so much smoother with image stabilization? I have the smallest S20 $999 version, on the Sony thr steady shot is on and active after trying standard as well. I also use a gopro chest mount as I have for a few years, any advice? I'm a novice when it comes to camera settings but smartphones I know in and out for over 15 yrs.

Add in a graphine battery for 5x life span and a proper touch screen the your upgrade is darn near perfect

RX100 6 and 7 have a different sensor size while the 5 has the same sensor as the Zv-1

Did you have that set to autofocus reveal? because every time you picked up your hands while sitting in front of the camera it focuses on them
