    I just have to say I have played against markquis for two years now and he is by far the hardest person I've guarded. He tore our region up those two years. He is so shifty and small you can't stay in front of him. He is around 5'6 and when you're 6'0 it's pretty hard to keep up with him. He is a major prospect and is one of the better guards in the country.

    Yea these guys have handles, but they'll never end up in any professional league because they have minimal scoring ability. Kids nowadays only want to have these crazy handles and get ankle breakers to make themselves look good, but pro level scouts aren't looking at that at all. They could care less if you have crazy handles, but if you have a crazy good shot, that's what they care about. Think about it, there's a reason why guys like JJ Redick are in the NBA, but guys like Hot Sauce and The Professor are stuck playing streetball. Even those guys that could throw down windmill slams, I bet you that that's all they can do. They gave too much focus to all the "glamorous" things in basketball and forgot to work on what's most important, getting points for your team. And it hurts to watch these kids because not only do they probably not have much of a future in basketball, but they give 0 shits about school, either...

      @user-fx2yd6wd3e 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These are the top ranked kids in their class. At least half will make division 1 college and a couple of them will make it to the league guaranteed

    • @HussainAli-cn9bk
      @HussainAli-cn9bk 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      john walen Middle school player rankings are made MAYBE even by college scouts, though I'm pretty sure they're made by high school scouts. Again, NBA teams don't care about flashy handles, or else street players like Hot Sauce would've been drafted long ago. Hot Sauce, probably the top player in street ball and possibly the greatest ball handler in the world right now, couldn't get drafted to the NBA, whereas someone like JJ Redick, who can't handle the ball for shit has a starting role on a playoff contending team. Why? JJ Redick can flat out score, Hot Sauce can't. Most of these kids could break ankles. But what good is an ankle breaker if you can't generate a score off of it? Also, actual good colleges such as the D1, believe it or not, still actually value grades. Take, for instance, a guy that used to be my high school friend. Beast football player, he was playing on high school varsity as a freshman, ranked as the fastest high school running back in the state a couple years ago, but he didn't care about his grades at all. He was struggling to maintain a measly D-average, and you know what happened? The best offer he got was from a D2 college. Now that wouldn't be bad at all, if we weren't talking about the TOP running a back in the state.

    • @BSDG24
      @BSDG24 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hussain Ali These are middle school kids, you're talking about fundamentals as though they don't have time to improve. These kids are far and away better than the kids in their age grouping from around the country, the rate of progression and development is not linear, but a lot of these kids will end up in D1 programs and a few will end up in the NBA. You're going off on a tangent about grades, how exactly do you know these kids are poor students? They are 11-14 years old, this is footage comprised of 6-8th graders, why are you talking about their grades as though you can tell their GPAs by how they handle a basketball. And most importantly, you can't draw any parallels between football and basketball, D1 talent in basketball is usually identifiable much sooner than other sports, a 6'8" 14 year old is going to get offers regardless of his skillset.
