I got a question, I want my customers to buy a recurring membership in order to unlock my courses. can I have any sort of membership within LearnDash, or am I forced to play 199€ a year in order for my customers to buy a membership instead of separate courses. Or should I get the memberdash only, but will I be able to create courses without LearnDash?
Not one that I'm aware of. LearnDash sticks quite closely to its original specification of being and LMS, so even though there is some crossover between memberships/communities and online courses, it doesn't have many features to support this. I guess that's where MemberDash comes in.

I think it depends on your use case. If you are predominantly creating video courses, then you'll most likely be able to do everything you need via LearnDash and won't need MemberDash. MemberDash is more likely to be useful if you offer something outside of your courses, like a community or regular new content.
