I was there the day this happened, also in a white BMW 3 series. Feel so bad for this dude, people make fun of drivers for their errors sometimes but if a car that you’re comfy with escapes you it can be incredibly scary.

i’ve seen so many people wreck these dct m cars exactly like this. i’ve driven a few both dct and 6mt, and the dct really loves to spin like crazy slam 2nd and spin even harder, if your smart, you let out and up shift, if you know how to drive, you short shift to third to control the wheel speed while staying pinned, and if you’re and can’t drive, you stay in it and then grab 3rd sending your wheel spin to the moon relative to your actual speed, and at that point, the car will go pretty straight but even the slightest move of the steering wheel or deviation in the road will start to turn the front and the opposite reaction with the rear, and all the wheel speed send you full speed into the wall. most people that would put themselves into that situation can’t think or react quick enough to upshift to try to slow the momentum of the wheels down. where as in a 6mt, clutch + brake might help you stop quicker in some situations. but i guess if you’re the person that would end up in that situation, you can’t think or react quick enough to do that either i guess.
