  • Game over guys, It finally happened. All our SpaceXvision SpaceX space concepts in one video. Don't miss out on this eyecandy.
    I have been off for about a year due to job and baby.
    However the period will soon come when SpaceXvision will enter phase 2.
    With many awesome concepts to come. But before that an overview of the concept I already created.

    Instead of drones should make a giant net and make it simple. It might be cheap if they place the net in canyon ( no need to have long towers as un anchor point)

    • @SpaceXvision

    Calm down, you don’t need to show every single angle in two seconds.

    you know why I wish Spacex stuck with tail-to-tail refilling?
    Because then it would be possible to use artificial gravity to orbital refill.
    the 2 ships on the inside are attached nose-to-nose, and a fuel recipient would be attached tail-to tail to each. Spin the whole thing, and the centrifugal force would direct the fuel/oxidizer into the outer ships

I'm hoping for an off world starship as I believe it's the most logical and safest way to live mars. I keep dropping tweets to Elon for an off world habitat version. These are really cool concepts. If you are interested in a few more I have thought about:
    1. Airship catch of Superheavy - While I don't see much need to air catch Starship as it can do a relatively small burn to land and can choose where to re-enter, what is important is catching Superheavy out in the ocean so it can avoid a landing burn and bringing it back to its launch site quickly for rapid reuse. What I have come up for this is a massive airship with a donut hole in the middle / double bubble airship. The idea being Superheavy has grappling hooks to catch arresting cables like you see on an aircraft carrier. Superheavy catches these arresting cables as it passes through the catch area of the airship, slows to a stop some distance underneath the airship, and then gets reeled back in for transport. The airship travels at maybe 80 mph until it gets back to the launch tower and lowers it down. For very high cadance launches, you may have a few airships cycling back and forth catching and returning Superheavies.
    2. Space hanger - With some companies working on inflatable habitats, I think it would be good to push the idea to its limits with Starship. What I have thought about is have a Starship send up what is essentially a giant air sack into space to use as an orbital hanger to assemble large things in space in. Have attachable modules such as workshops and airlocks brought up on Starship.
    3. Wheel of Starships - With Elon Musk talking about sending 1,000 Starships at a time to Mars, another concept would be to have an NTP / ion propulsed core ship with a wheel of Starships for anti-gravity. The idea being you build the main ship with #2. Then you attach Starships launched from Earth for the journey to the artificial gravity wheel. Fire the ship off towards Mars and spin up the wheel. The wheel would have various hookups and even radiation shielding to support the Starships on their journey to Mars. People could exit into the ring from Starship. This will likely be from the top side somewhere instead of the nose so as to not perturb the heat shield. Then travel around the wheel. No need to take an elevator to the top. Once in Mars space, the Starships can detach, grab a bit of propellant from the mother ship for the trip down and then go down to Mars. The key point here is each Starship can primarily be built for short trips between low orbits and planets while the reusable mother ship built in space will provide the extra systems and storage and efficient space engines and such for the trip between the orbits of planets. The mother ship would also have a reusable NTP booster to leave LEO and start its way to Mars before detaching and heading back to LEO so that it can be reused for a future trip. Mars has a lot less gravity and less in the way of ground support for refilling (actually no ground support in the present day), so no point in a separate booster for Mars in such a reusable design. May be good to also have a dedicated cargo - propellant hauler ship as the slow boat with all of the extra supplies and using very efficient space engine tech.

    • @adamklosterman8960
      @adamklosterman8960 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SpaceXvision no I think it's an awesome idea. Just not practical, from the research papers Ive read in the past the length of tether between ships would need to be something like a mile long to keep the rotation speed below a half rotation per minute. Apparently most humans have issues above that rotation speed for longer periods of time. I remember sleep issues was a big one but it's been a while. I think that in the near term the micro/no gravity and issues that go with that will probably be preferable to the complexity and human bio issues of an artificial gravity ship setup. Your slss concept is superb. Something else I can see coming is traditional Hubble style telescopes built right into starship with 8 meter mirrors and the ability to bring the whole thing back to earth for upgrades. Some sort of nuclear tug that interfaces directly into back of starship and uses methane as propellant. Would have to be long and with a radiation shield. Probably have to be launched on several launches and assembled in space.
