Speaking of ESPN, regarding the "Mike Leach Closet Thing", it wasn't true. In court, Adam James testified he was told to go to a media room where he was supposed to hang out because James claimed he had a concussion and was standing around on the sidelines wearing sunglasses. The Big 12 would keep quite if they had a quality media rights deal on the table, regardless of the SEC bias. If you're tring to sell the idea that the Big 12 is making some principaled stand, then you should reconsider. Obviously ESPN has minimized the teams they are dealing with and they aren't going to over pay for teams that only generate local interest. This is why they forced Texas and OU's hand. I really don't think Texas had any real desire to play in the SEC. The SEC has made attempts for Texas and OU in the past, but Texas refused those offers until now, I'm sure ESPN had a role to play in making this happen.
what are you talking about? ESPN is supposed to be an "unbiased" sports network....in that case they should just admit themselves as an SEC network. You just validated their point, bravo 🤣
@chicagobears654 Why is that funny? I've never taken a position that ESPN is anything but complicit in the changing of college football. But I think you've missed my point... To act like Yormark is telling ESPN that the Big 12 rejects ESPN is pure fantasy. This is a face saving moment.... Yormark is trying to gain a little positive traction from an otherwise negative reality. He's metaphorically quitting a job before they can fire him.
The CW SPORTS first year doing College football was a pretty good start for them. The Washington State Oregon St games had 695,000. Pac -12 on CW outdrew the ACC on the CW, and the Big 12 on FS1. I hope they can continue to grow, especially since I don't have Cable. I would like them to add a streaming option and not just Broadcast.
BTW CW Sports have added other sporting events should they not have an early CFB game with some Nascar Races, LIV Golf comes back late winter going into the spring when they get done with College Basketball but my CW station in Houston will have Rugby so that may not be too bad
I think schedules are going to play a huge factor in who gets to the Big12 championship next year. That's how it played out this year. I think talent levels are so much more balanced now with the portal and rosters going down to 105. Shit is just hard to predict. But I do agree that BYU and Baylor are two teams entering the year who appear to be in really good shape.
Arizona Fan here. We complained about the Pac12 Network being bad and were looking forward to the change, but man, ESPN+ is just awful. Announcers have no clue about anything. It's obvious they just mail it in.
The Big 12 needs to remember they tried to lock the B1G and Pac 12 out of conference championship games and the BCS playoff. The Big 12 sided with the SEC in the attempt to totally run college football. The NCAA, after not allowing the Pac 10 or B1G to have a conference championship because they didn't have a 12 team league, overturned that rule after the Big 12 dropped below 12 teams. The SEC will suffer loss with NIL, portal, and CFP expansion. Fair competition is all the B1G ever wanted but the SEC, Big 12 and the ACC made that impossible.
This report is misleading. ESPN is sub licensing those games to TNT. It's not like this was a power move by the conference. This frees up inventory for ESPN, which has in infinite amount of content to broadcast. TNT plays on the national level. ESPN plays on the global level.
ESPN sucks any more regardless who controls shit. They are blatantly biased every team needs equal amount of exposure not so lop sided as it is. ESPN is going to dictatorship. Agreed, I also fondly remember those days. I would rather watch cornhole, Australian football, soccer, and /or lots of classic reruns (of teams besides the SEC) than listen to their talking heads who have their own opinions just like we all do----and we don't care what they think.
Kansas football, very physical, was the only team that traded blows with ASU until time ran out ~ not counting TT and Cincinnati. Keep an eye on Kansas football making noise.
What are you guys talking about? ASU just earned respect for the conference & even Finebaum & Herbstreit are backtracking. SEC either plays nice or college football will be destroyed. The SEC just dominating is not the direction we're headed in
Do you really think Finebaum and Kirby will remember this paradigm shift come July, or do you think they will do a hard factory reset to their default settings?
To be clear this Big 12 deal is part of a bigger package of content that ESPN and Turner Sports came to avoid a court battle over the NBA. So, Turner will get Big 12 football and basketball games that will be produced by ESPN with the talent coming from ESPN. Turner will produce Inside the NBA with Chuck, Shaq, Kenny and Ernie for ESPN. So while It is always good for the conference to get new partners ESPN still will produce the games on TNT
Yes, and we will all be glued to our seats waiting for TNT to cover the market. Texas didn't just leave that league because of money. The Big 12 stepped in it with their game officiating in the 2015 OSU v Texas football game. FAIR!, my ass. There were a lot of people watching that game for a lot of reasons other than school or regional loyalties. That and the Baylor scandal were the beginning of the end for Big 12 football respect. Hopefully it may now improve, with the addition of a more DIVERSE fanbase. But you had better put a shorter leash on your commissioner.
I still don't get why Nebraska left the B12 years back. Wonder if they regret that one behind closed doors. Didn't they get booted out of the AAU and that's a criterion to be in the B10.
There isn't a team in the little 12. That wouldn't join the B1G or SEC if asked. The clown hosting this pod used to work for ESPN. That lasted about four months. He's still very salty about it.
Why did Nebraska leave? Texas...... When in doubt the answer for why practically any program has ever left the B12 can be linked back to the longhorns being a cancer of a program to deal with in a conference.
@ with the current playoff requirements, I agree that if you win the big 12, you are in the playoffs. Maybe I am new to the idea, but 1) if Oklahoma wanted to rejoin the Big12, why wouldn’t the big 12 as a whole eagerly except Oklahoma back? (I may definitely be wrong, but I see it as Oklahoma being a traditional/major football program resulting in more financial input for the conference). 2) if the guaranteed conference playoff format stays the same, why shouldn’t the 8ish best SEC team and/or the big10’s Penn St change conferences to the big 12 so they can win every year and have a guaranteed playoff birth
Arizona State vs Texas was Rigged for Texas to win by the official who over turned the Targeting call. Officials on the field had it correct . So , is there targeting or not ? Or is it , just not against the (SEC) teams ?
Wow Drake, your total disrespect for Arizona State by calling them a rag tag team is reprehensible. Then trying to disregard the media rights contracts that the Big12 have with ESPN and Fox is very misleading and disingenuous.
Hope springs eternal about recruiting ratings at Baylor and Texas Tech. Because history tells us that that definitely determines the B12 Championship. 😂
Well espn controls recruiting rankings , which determines strength of schedule metrics. They can manipulate their narrative with stats and "facts". How is this legal in college football when it would be illegal in other businesses?
Ummmm, you didn't see ESPN leading an effort to shift Texas and OU to the SEC as a first step to ESPN severing ties with the conference? I always assumed that ESPN would cut ties with the Big 12..... I know you're painting this as the Big 12 quitting ESPN, but I seriously doubt that is the case. The Big 12 desperately needs a competitive media rights deal and that wasn't on the ESPN radar. I'm a Texas fan, but I still really love the Big 12. I think we all know how this will end, there will be a league. I really hope that original Big 12 teams become the Western conference of the SEC along with Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas, and LSU...... The I'd love to see the Big 10 absorb the former Pac 12 schools and create a Wesrern conference along with Washington, UCLA, USC, and Oregon. Let the SEC have Florida State, North Carolina, NC State, Clemson and Virginia (New territory) ----- Let the Big 10 have Miami, Duke, Virginia Tech, SMU and Georgia Tech..... This isn't a perfect idea, I'm just saying that I hope these great teams are included in whatever BS these big wigs have in mind for college football.

Finally someone stepped up and said no more to ESPN! Bravo!
LOL
Too early to predict. Have to see how the teams are constructed come August
This is probably the best thing we could do to get out from under the dictatorship of ESPN.
LOL, there are two networks holding those Big12 media rights.
Oh no! ESPN is like…who cares
@chicagobears654
Why is that funny? I've never taken a position that ESPN is anything but complicit in the changing of college football. But I think you've missed my point... To act like Yormark is telling ESPN that the Big 12 rejects ESPN is pure fantasy. This is a face saving moment.... Yormark is trying to gain a little positive traction from an otherwise negative reality. He's metaphorically quitting a job before they can fire him.
TNT, Fox, ESPN announced a new collaborative streaming service for sports last fall. Not sure if it is related.
Small viewership numbers
@@JohnWick-jv3xl A good first year
BTW CW Sports have added other sporting events should they not have an early CFB game with some Nascar Races, LIV Golf comes back late winter going into the spring when they get done with College Basketball but my CW station in Houston will have Rugby so that may not be too bad
lots of big time premier Big 12 basketball games on ESPN+ now....what a shame.
Indiana fan, we're with you guys
The baby 12 pooped their diapers
Cameron inadvertently came up with the perfect slogan for the B12's counter to SEC's "It just means more": "The Great Race".
Could these mean we could lose all softball games and WBB and football games on ESPN+?
I think schedules are going to play a huge factor in who gets to the Big12 championship next year. That's how it played out this year. I think talent levels are so much more balanced now with the portal and rosters going down to 105. Shit is just hard to predict. But I do agree that BYU and Baylor are two teams entering the year who appear to be in really good shape.
I actually find the B12 to be the most entertaining football conference to watch.
Arizona Fan here. We complained about the Pac12 Network being bad and were looking forward to the change, but man, ESPN+ is just awful. Announcers have no clue about anything. It's obvious they just mail it in.
I watch ESPN shows often, not just the sports.
B12 meds to go with Fox more and NBC. Get a 2nd Saturday big game to bookended with Notre Dame. ESPN has lost its way.
YES YES YES YES FINALLY !!!!! I HOPE THIS IS NOT BS!!!!
It is.
ESPN’s camera coverage is terrible. I tune in for the game, not Coaches running around
G5 needs their own national title.
LSU dominated Baylor. They clearer weren't the best BIG 12 team. No hypothetical added weeks in the season will change that. BYU and ASU.
Locked on is 80% for themselves and 20% for the teams they "represent."
American people will start turning away from ESPN because of the unfairness of your programming. Do you not care about money.
Yes and no
@@chrisharden5182 ESPN has a lot more to broadcast in many different markets than just college football. TNT had the NBA, then really not much outside of that. This is table scraps for ESPN. Don't get me wrong I like this move, but it's not as much of a power play as these guys are making it out to be.
You couldn't pay me to watch ESPN or any cable network for that matter.
How much is it going to take, just give me a number!
Tragic. RIP
awww poor baby.....I hear Newsmax might be your speed.
@darrylbrown8253 don't watch that 💩 either.
MORE TEAMS NEED TO FOLLOW!! TAKE AWAY THE SEC ESPN POWER OVER COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!
Rich Rod is putting this league on notice within 2 years he will be playing for the championship regularly
ESPN doesn't control anything. If they did the SEC would have ridiculously had 5 teams in the playoff instead of 3. They DO broadcast what they are given.
They do broadcast what they pay for. LOL.
Score Alert: LSU just scored again!
As much as I dislike the arcane rules of the NCAA, as soon as they lost control of football, ESPN swooped in and sucked it up.
I LIKE THIS COMMISSIONER!! HE HAS BALLS! THE PAC 12 COMMISIONER WAS A DEI HIRE!!!!
Every time someone uses “DEI hire” unironically, I chuckle. Every time.
@SenorHomeslice Why?
@@austinmeyers-c4n For the same reason I laugh when I at someone driving a Cybertruck: whatever they’re trying to accomplish, they’re the only one who doesn’t recognize it’s not going how they think.
@@SenorHomeslice go take a look at what's happening in the real world, DEI hires are a real thing. my dad (a white male) experienced discrimination from his employer in favor of less qualified *diverse* candidates frequently.
Remember - ESPN started this conference realignment forest fire in the first place.
Probably, can't wait to see ms state play Arkansas.
Remember that it was ESPN and Fox that stepped up and offered the Big12 a lifeline when they were about to die.
@@jansonroberts2616 That qualifies as a double-edged sword situation.
ESPN is not only a struggling brand, but it acts like it.
They are insincere partners that fall in their fiduciary responsibilities regularly.
The Big XII needed to seek other media partners
ACC fan here, UNC specific. ASU was a few coaching decisions away from winning. And I am not going to blast an underdog trying to score TD instead of FG. That said, kick the field goals and you are walking out with the W.
I remember when ESPN would actually show live sports instead of just talking head shows. The 1 channel back then played more sports than all their channels added together now play. Of course this was all the way back when MTV actually played music videos lol.
About time thank god
Crazy to listen to big12 homers hype of Arizona state as a big12 team when you said the exact opposite a year ago when they were a pc12 team
If Texas goes down to Ohio State the SEC will be 1-5 against the B1G in this post season. It's two full conferences B1G v SEC.
Farmageddon will be played in Dublin in 2025.
Respect
To be clear this Big 12 deal is part of a bigger package of content that ESPN and Turner Sports came to avoid a court battle over the NBA. So, Turner will get Big 12 football and basketball games that will be produced by ESPN with the talent coming from ESPN. Turner will produce Inside the NBA with Chuck, Shaq, Kenny and Ernie for ESPN. So while It is always good for the conference to get new partners ESPN still will produce the games on TNT
Peace out ESPN 🎉
Cameron, Ill take that bet. 😀😀😀😁
Cam a little delusional to think Sawyer best returning Qb over Sam Leavitt.
WVU got a SEC QB also from A&M
Yes, and we will all be glued to our seats waiting for TNT to cover the market. Texas didn't just leave that league because of money. The Big 12 stepped in it with their game officiating in the 2015 OSU v Texas football game. FAIR!, my ass. There were a lot of people watching that game for a lot of reasons other than school or regional loyalties. That and the Baylor scandal were the beginning of the end for Big 12 football respect. Hopefully it may now improve, with the addition of a more DIVERSE fanbase. But you had better put a shorter leash on your commissioner.
Drive the conference further into irrelevance. Better off partnering with streaming services
Just ask the NHL how well telling ESPN to F/O worked for them 😄😄 ESPN's the worst but this is a dangerous move
With a 9 win season, you would think we would hear from at least one of the 12 tcu, fans!
The disrespect towards ASU.
Good for you Big 12, the Big 10 hates ESPN also. Always pushing sec when they suck. Sec is down and will stay down, this I promise.
Can we get the Big XII on something cable cutters can watch?
Do you think Baylor football needs the media team to focus more on out of season media comparisons to the ACC or Big10 for interaction sake?
neither, stay inside the Big 12 ... win the big 12 , you are in the playoffs.. DO NOT ALLOW OKLAHOMA BACK IN THE BIG 12!!
@ with the current playoff requirements, I agree that if you win the big 12, you are in the playoffs. Maybe I am new to the idea, but
1) if Oklahoma wanted to rejoin the Big12, why wouldn’t the big 12 as a whole eagerly except Oklahoma back? (I may definitely be wrong, but I see it as Oklahoma being a traditional/major football program resulting in more financial input for the conference).
2) if the guaranteed conference playoff format stays the same, why shouldn’t the 8ish best SEC team and/or the big10’s Penn St change conferences to the big 12 so they can win every year and have a guaranteed playoff birth
I'm hearing the SEC is starting their own network
right, and I heard they are going to call it ESPN...
@@magicray5088😂😂😂😂😂
We are all tired of woke espn bias
You guys do realize that ESPN and Warner are trying to be partners just like Fox, CBS, and NBC right?
I ABSOLUTELY HATE ESPN!!!!
Arizona State vs Texas was Rigged for Texas to win by the official who over turned the Targeting call. Officials on the field had it correct . So , is there targeting or not ? Or is it , just not against the (SEC) teams ?
"But if the Big12 goes to TNT, how will they learn about the 9-3 SEC teams that deserve to be in the playoffs?" Paul Finebaum
If you can’t beat’em, join’em. LOL
Wow Drake, your total disrespect for Arizona State by calling them a rag tag team is reprehensible. Then trying to disregard the media rights contracts that the Big12 have with ESPN and Fox is very misleading and disingenuous.
Congrats to Baylor from WVU fan
Hope springs eternal about recruiting ratings at Baylor and Texas Tech. Because history tells us that that definitely determines the B12 Championship. 😂
Kansas is killing it too in the portal.
Well espn controls recruiting rankings , which determines strength of schedule metrics. They can manipulate their narrative with stats and "facts". How is this legal in college football when it would be illegal in other businesses?
Auburn and SMU! Baylor should start 2-0!
You mean Baylor fans are saying Baylor is going to play in the BIg12 championship. No way, say it ain’t so. lol
This better not be clickbait
TNT please sign PAC 12 tv agreement as well.
So Big 12 wants to take both of their viewers and leave ESPN? Leave their members with even smaller revenue package?
#fireJonathanWistrcill he needs to stop spreading lies about byu!!!!!
Good!
This is why the MWC left the Mouse since the last contract, they didn't trust them and switched to CBS and Fox. This just leaves ESPN with Calfurd for PST games right since they don't have any BIG games and losing the Arizona teams must hurt. The PAC is just smiling today.
B1g kicked their@ss this year. Funny way to define best.
Cameron, sorry but Tech doesn’t care about Baylor, TCU or Houston.
Texans don't care about Tech.
tech only cares about schools in texas...common.
Nobody wants to go to Lubbock
