Basic Measuring Tools will explain the basic measuring tools used by the motorcycle and small engine mechanic. This introduction to the tools will explain what they are and how they may be used. Later videos will show in detail how these measuring tools are used.

Plastigage is used to measure the clearance between the crankpin and connecting rod bearing. I am working on the videos now that will show how to use plastigage for this purpose. So far, I have completed How to Read a standard ruler, how to read a standard micrometer, how to read a metric micrometer, and am working on using a dial indicator and others now.

Nice video. I was wondering...to replace a connecting rod bearing which one would be the best measuring tool? I hear it's the plastigage. Can you demonstrate how to measure this using the plastigage?
