I remember a few years ago people all said the small didn’t hold much so much better to buy the mini for a whole lot less than the small. How the tides have changed! Although I don’t own one, I think the small is the perfect size!! Plus you get that double flap which I think just makes it feel so special and different from any other brand. It’s so Chanel! OMG so grateful I came across this video. Almost everyone I've watched says the mini fits the same amount so I've never gotten the small but just the minis, but now I want a classic flap and you've convinced me on the size small! LOL

Hi Amy :) You may already know this but I would recommend not to put items in the "secret compartment" in the back behind the flap. if you put items in this section it can pop the side stitches which is why you will see on many preloved bags popped stitches on the side!

Agreed! I LOVE my small classic flap. The proportions are beautiful and the double flap holds its structure much better than the minis.
I’ve definitely been convinced on the small classic flap. I like the mini but I think I’d definitely go for the small first! The jumbo is also another gorgeous bag from the classic line.
Congratulations on your Small Grey unicorn 🦄 I currently own a mini,small and medium, Classic flap. Small & Medium are in caviar. The Small CF is my favorite size. IMO, it’s just a little extra special:)
I also have a Samorga organize in all three, to protect the interior. I do wish the straps where just a little longer on the small & medium. I had thought about adding a new Jumbo, to my collection. But didn’t jump on it before the last price increase. Don’t know if I would add one now. Big bags are coming back around….. that’s fashion for ya!

Great comparison. I still own the Jumbo in leather as well as a denim Jumbo. I gravitate more toward the denim Jumbo and use that one all the time as a day-to-day bag. I don't use my leather Jumbo too often but I still love it. Maybe I'll sell it one day but it is still so beautiful and ultimately will never go out of style.
I have decided to sell my Classic M/L for a small classic flap as it fits my frame better
I bough the small flap last year, and sold it after one month, didn’t like the caviar.. it felt so plastic for me, and the interior wasn’t as perfect as my one vintage bag. The jumbo on the other hand, beautiful bag! I don’t really Mind the weight as most people. Love how much space it offers, and the whole look, its just beautiful and for me more practical than the small one. Although that grey Color of yours ist really nice.
Totally agree. I love my jumbo . It holds so much more than the next size down . When I want to carry just a few basics , I use the reissue mini which also has the double chain option unlike the other minis .
I got the medium so that I'm able to fit my sunglasses easily, and a mini wallet for daytime! Not really necessary for evening tho. My next classic flap will be a small. So in love with yours!

I love to hear someone else say they like the strap drop length of the classic double flaps! They are perfect long shoulder bags, which is how you’re supposed to wear them!
Hahahhaha yes they're meant and designed as proper shoulder bags! But modern needs is all about versatility and hands free so I guess we have to adapt sometimes too.
Love the classic flap! I too resisted it for so long but it really is amazing . Yes the price is crazy but pre loved isn’t even cheaper and nothing beats the new bag first owner experience 💕

The small would be the most perfect size for me, mainly as an evening bag but also useable for day; medium too big for evening and more formal occasions (in my opinion). The small is so elegant. I am envious! 😆 In June ‘17 it was $6,060 AUD and today $10,270 AUD, probably similar to Canadian prices. I balked at the price in 2017 and couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger, was waiting until the kids finished school (no fees!) and now the time is right, I still can’t bring myself to do it! 🤷🏻♀️ I wish a could just jump but damn Chanel - that price is insane!

I’ve recently opened up to trying a small. I always heard they didn’t hold much more than a mini and weren’t worth it. Last week there was an off white small in my boutique. I fell in love and couldn’t resist. I also tried the black with rose gold which was beautiful too. I kinda regret not taking both. 😬
The Small Classic Flap holds its structure much better over the course of time than the mini. I also love that the strap is convertible, whereas the minis can only be worn long or crossbody (unless you use a conversion kit) except for the mini reissue style.

I used to think with the price increases there were no longer worth it, but I'm changing my mind. Years from now they will cost 20,000 and we're going to wish we bought more at 7,000 (hard to believe) I love the small on you Amy. I don't own a small, but maybe I will add one. Exactly!!! It's all relative! We were not born in the 50s so how could have bought the cfs from back in the 80-90s right?! It's just not possible unless someone hands them down.

Just love your channel Amy. And your Chanel bags. I love mini rectangulars but also have CF in small and like you i find it just that bit bigger and love the chain length. For me my mini bags are great for summer as they are so light and easy! But when i wear coats or knits in winter i love my jumbo on shoulder but swung to my back a little. Holds heaps but with a coat it works weight and size wise.
I have sold my jumbo a few weeks ago. I bought it in 2013 when jumbo was still so popular. It's just too heavy to use it as an everyday bag and too small for work. We are generally carrying fewer things when we go out these days. Also, I used to carry 2 phones around (work and private) but have started using dual sim phones for the last few years and that also free up some space in smaller bags too.
I like the double strap length of the jumbo. I still cannot decide if I prefer it to the M/L. The jumbo size looks very nice on bigger frame ladies. Personally, between size M/L and size S, I prefer the size M/L as it’s more spacious.
Great review, as always. I love a good mini because of the single compartment and the crossbody ability; but the classic flaps are just so much better made and look so classic!!! I only wish the strap were longer on the small or medium CF, but do understand that they are designed to be shoulder carry bags.

To me they are both worth it, love minis and CFs (small and mediums equally). I sold all my jumbos 😓The 5 year warranty is new, It was only 1 year for all handbags but exceptions were made depending on the customer. ;) Amy do not use the “secret compartment” it is not meant to be a pocket, if you do, you might pop the side stitches. Also, to everyone out there, samorga 1.2mm has a hole as they do leave one stitch undone. The 2mm is better constructed and safer for inside bags. As per sizes, before here in the US the medium/large Flaps were more popular than small ones, but in Europe they have always preferred small size more;)
I used the secret compartment once to hide a few larger bills. I don't plan on using it that often at all 😉😉
I got my jumbo in late 2019 in cavier leather. Is a beautiful bag but way too heavy also not a everyday bag. I sold 2 weeks ago..no point to keep as hardly reach for it compared to my coco handle

Amy- question, I just bought that gorgeous 21A grey classic flap that you have. I was reviewing its authenticity since it was from Fashionphile. I noticed that the zipper pull does not have a brand/label on the zipper. I thought that all classic flaps have a brand label on it. Does your have a label? Thanks.
Whilst I love the functionality of the mini rectangular, mentally I always just thought it looked like a toy bag. The small CF just looks like a ‘proper/complete’ handbag

Nice video! I will nonetheless advise you not to pack stuffs in your Chanel bags to the maximum: you will eventually end up damaging your bag! I have learnt the hard way: I broke one of my Chanel bags 10 years ago because I had overstuffed it. Thanks Gosh, the bag was fairly new and they agreed to take my bag and exchange it with a new one!
I think the Jumbo size does surprisingly suit you very well. Maybe you would have worn it more often, had you consume less social medias contents?
I won't pack it too full don't worry! I only used the secret compartment once to hide a few large bills on the way to the bank. I'm not an overpacker either but I think it helps to show people how much it actually fits. About the jumbo, quite the contrary, I think if I didn't watch TH-cam so much, I would never have bought that size in the first place 😅
I own a jumbo single flap as well. I bought it back in 2010. Now it has been sleeping in my closet for a very long time. I also think about letting it go and get the small classic flap instead. Thank you for the review. I now have my heart set on the small size instead of medium/large.

I love the classic flap and think it is worth the money. I don’t have a mini or a jumbo so can’t comment on these sizes.
Quick Q - do you ever think phones will get too big to fit inside a mini? It is a concern for me and the reason I haven’t gone for one. With phones now folding etc so you think there is a ceiling for phone size??
for your first comment !! Great question!!! I think if caviar minis are still around, I would still get a mini first, then quickly focus on a cf small or medium. Having a cf is just so super special while minis are versatile for dressing down and for travel.
