I love my Nite Ize. Brilliant invention. I hate mucking about . Very simplistic, quick with ease is what I love! You can never have too many as I just got an order of aluminum ones in today and another order of plastic ones coming Friday. Great video! Cheers m8 from Canada! Just got a new sub.
Thanks mate. Everything I needed to know or wondered about em. Knots are cool, but when you're tired af and shaking starving.. forgetting knots by the second..and you need to set up the tarp asafp?.. This are going to be in my kit
Good information on your video. I just got a set of them today and I am not sure if your tan cord that comes with it does the same as mine but there are little silver diamonds on the cord that are also reflective in light. Might want to test out your cord.
good demo mick they great little gadgets they take away a lot off hassel when setting tarps and as you say they weigh next to nothing i think i will look into these futher thanks for heads up atb alb
I like gadgets as well, Have 8 aluminum ones that are bad ass! I will pick up some of the cheaper plastic ones for flexibility, regardless of there longevity. You put out good videos, and I have gained a lot from them, thank you.
Thank you for your kind comments. They are great and Im going to buy some more too. If you go to whitbyandco.co.uk you can find your local stockist of these nifty gadgets...
Great video, very clear. Neat bit of engineering. But... Kinda sad and ironic that these are marketed as "bushcraft". Real bushcraft is knowing how to tie knots to do all this. Knots are lighter to carry, less likely to break, cheaper to acquire, and once learned can be used anywhere you are where you have string. "The more you know, the less you carry" Kochanski
+Chris C It is no doubt a good idea to learn a few useful knots. But, I like the option of being able to reach under the edge of my tarp in foul weather and adjust the pitch without being exposed to the elements. I Don't believe you colud do that with knots. Also, these would be much easier to deal with in severely cold weather than fiddling around with knots with bare fingers.
Yeah, you can fit larger diameter cord through the opening however the strength is in the pinch point and if the pinch is open 10 mm it's not going to be clamping down nearly as tight on the cord. Also, I don't understand how anybody who uses outdoors materials or works with their hands at all,can have such long fingernails. I mean it's like soft skin and long fingernails are not who I listen to when it comes to outdoors materials.....
They are exceptionally useful when called for in shelter building 😎👍
Living in Arizona 🌵 they come handy for shade on hikes and work.

Mick please help. I use 3mm paracord and it's slipping. Any ideas please. Thanks
I would try thicker paracord (6-8mm) 👍
@@caspervanlife8466 Thanks. I am using 3mm and it just slips when you put tension on. Tried tying a tarp and it came undone
How strong are these? like whats the max. load for them?

they look pretty good ill buy them for my tarp
Thank you and you wont be disappointed...
Great Video, keep up the good work!
I can see that being nylon plastic it will fail in the field at some point. This would have made a lot more sense CNC machined from durable aluminium.
Grate video!
Great video as always..thanks.
macajeff Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for your comment...

Not anymore seemingly
This will be Great!!! Until it breaks and/or you lose it...then you'll have to know how to tie a knot (which is free:)
