Thank you for the review! Do we know why they are not opted for dropper posts? In those african downhills it could help a lot. :- )

      because they‘re oldschool but gold!

They were asked for this after some stage last year in post stage interview. Answer was: we are old school, rigid post is light and we are fast enough even without the dropper. It seems it works for them. Also Chris Blevins is on rigid post. Speaking for myself, I cannot imagine riding MTB without the dropper.

A Propper Post with its extra weight gives significantly more security and thus also more speed in the descents. All my bikes have this Vario support, which is one of the best inventions of the last 15 years. A long stem causes a lot of pressure on the front wheel because of the leverage. This in turn makes the bike a bit more unsteady and very heavy on the front.
At my time 30 yrs ago I drove 130mm, that I would definitely no longer use in racing.
Good luck for the epic !!!

They talked about it in their speedcompany podcast actually. They said they tried it multiple times in training but never really got around liking it that much and think that they are fine without it.

@@speedsociety9177 The dropper post is one of the best inventions of the recent years and the boys underestimate the advantage, which has yet to be experienced by them.
A small example n 1992 I mounted the first hydraulic rim brakes on my cyclocross bike and nobody understood it.
That's how I'd won some of the races, not because I was the strongest, but because I was the last one able to brake with precision in the last corner.
My experience came from the car motorsport. It took almost 20 years for road - and cyclocross rider to understand the benefits of a properly functioning brake in all weather conditions.
      That's my racing experience ;-)

I thought the racing ralph was a rear specific tyre that pairs with the racing ray?

i think i've read somewhere where schwalbe said it can be put in front for dry conditions

10.8! But no dropper. So about 11.4 with a dropper. That thing is heavy.

With a bottle and a saddlebag.
Most bikes are weighed without a bottle or pedals. Plus they put on paper thin tyres to make it seem lighter.
That is very light for a complete 120mm bike.

Bottle plus saddlebag is probably 800g if the bottle is full.
