- the FRISK 7 by fader labs i was interested and purchased one to see what made this little concept portable so unique.. so here is my review and we getting into the guts of this little portable .. i discuss the features and short comings of the frisk 7…. i give you my honest opinion again this is not sponsored i purchased this product.. it is cool to see independent companies not backed by corporations creating products for the scratch and portablist community ...
They could keep the reed switches, but use said reed switches only to control a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) to actually manipulate the audio signal. Then some simple de-bouncing circuitry between the reed switches and the VCA would eliminate the popping. The popping (IMHO) is probably due to the abrupt impedance changing that a circuit connecting and disconnecting would cause (unless the reed switches simply short the would-be signal path to ground through a resistor). If they went VCA for the fader circuit that would also give potential to use a hall-effect sensor and add in a curve adjustment.... Very cool concept!
For the mere size got my attention. What's the weight bro? And are you looking to make improvements to it? To include the fader?
Same. Size + form factor = sprung!
already printed another platter
can't be no more than 3 to 4 pounds if that
nice one for diving in and making the video. really dope to see Fader Labs innovating.
yeah i love the concept of this little portable and it shows that there is potential for 3D printed products … I can say there is still some work that needs to be done to get a fully functional product but it's going to take a few more versions and innovations to get there ...
i like this one bro. hope you can mode this to a dope one :). nice vid bro!
me too
i see portable,3D printed scratching turntables havent yet reached their design zenith , thanks ....
How is this supposed to be able to play a record all the way though with such a small and straight tonearm? I'm no audiophile but even I see a problem here. When it gets to the inner groove, the alignment is totally out! it's like 90 degrees sideways to the groove in the record!
He literally shows it reaching the last grooves of a 7 inch record lol
Should also be noted its meant for scratching as opposed to hi fi playback.
😎✌🏾
Good point. It is meant for scratching tho, not playback
Thanks for sharing. Was really curious about this thing
so was i so i bit the bullet and purchased so you wouldn't have to take the risk …
❤❤❤
That print quality is absolutely whack for a $300 product
i like the overall idea of the portable it has some great ideas but yes i agree it needs to go through some more testing and revamping … my main gripe is being that i also sell products i make sure it is at the best quality and argiuos testing free of defects… this had to many issues out the box even if its a concept portable
Crosley x 100.
This thing is a dog.... looking pretty ROUGH!
🤣🤣🤣
I wish they would stop making this shit I really do... Another toy..
i love the portablist community and portable turntables … with the invent of these types of portables it has made the world of djing and scratching more attainable and affordable for others to join in…
