@@cloudchamp I tried to enable Sudo on my windows PC, it did not work. I have installed Ubuntu now but I am stuck when I run the command: git remote set-url origin ....... I get this message fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories ): .git
Hey, great video! I have question 1) you setup our own runner and then installed docker through terminal in AWS. Can we instead of this add line to job in gitlab-ci.yml file and install it every time when the pipeline is running? 2) and second why during setting up runner did you chose Linux and not AWS as environment? It is because you install Linux OS when you were creating EC2 or something like that? Sorry if the questions are stupid but im beginner in this field.
Thanks so much for tutorial it is really helping me a whole lot. one thing I noticed from my Gitlab account and yours is that i don't have the Workspace, Environment, operations and security option. So please what do I Do so I can get all the options as you? Thanks
Hello brother please guide how to fix ci/cd question - Build a front-end application that uses ReactJS. The front-end application should be able to trigger/run Gitlab pipelines to run jobs. The Gitlab repo should contain the necessary front-end code as well as the code for achieving further functionality via Ansible playbooks/Python/other scripts which are also stored in the Gitlab Repo. The scripts can invoke further APIs to run and receive response of success/failure via these APIs. Once the success/fail response is received from the API, the same should be rendered in the front-end GUI in a report format. For reporting, you can use tools like Allure. Also, how you use your knowledge on using other associated stacks for Gitlab like Harbour, Vault, Rancher will also be assessed and appreciated
Good Session.. But i have a question if i want to run multiple applications can we do with a single runner? For eg i have my Full Stack Mern APPLICATION ADMIN SIDE - REACT USER SIDE - REACT BACKEND - NODE Suggest me the best possible way to deploy it on aws Thank You
Great tutorial! Thanks. But, what if i want to push my files from vs code to s3 using gitlab pipelines. How do i have to configure my yml file? Also, i use nodejs
when we are performing the git commands in your video we are facing so much error. like you didn't showed git init and what type of terminal to be used in VS code. Please help clarifying on that
There's protected environment, approver has been added as well, but when a approver approve or reject the pipeline with some comment, where to see that comment? I checked under pipeline, it's not visible, only showing, that it has been rejected/approved. Please help me how and where to see the comments.
I am using GitLab version 15.11.4 and have several pipelines running. If I upgrade to version 16.8.1, will there be any issues with repository cloning or the runners?
Hi cloudchamp, i have a question: For the python application you created, you also created a dockerfile. But I didn’t see you make reference to the dockerfile in the .gitlab-ci.yml file. Why so? Is it that the .gitlab-ci.yml file automatically detects it and runs it?
.gitlab-ci.yml and dockerfile are in same location. He mentioned docker build -t name_of_image . That . (dot) indicates docker file is in same location

After having deployed successfully, How can you test the result ? Where is URL to open local:8080 in Gitlab?
The image is executed in the ec2 instance, so you use the public ip for the instance

What are the core differences between gitlab and github actions? I thought github actions was the CICD
Cicd is a term, GitHub actions is a tool, so is Jenkins, or gitlab ci or circle ci etc
@@cloudchamp Ah thanks.. So from your professional opinion which has the most demand? Or is it per use case?
Gitlab CI@@lilseezy8123
