True but with the right warm up exercises, tonge placement, jaw placement, compression/breath control, voice placement (chest voice, head voice or mixed voice) timing of falsetto, raising and lowering of the larynx, how to shape the mouth for different vowels etc. anyone can do it 😉
Being a gen Xer who grew up with the original Seattle sound. This band proved in my opinion that they weren't just Nirvana in Pajamas. They got better with age. This song is absolutely brilliant.
Oh man, I wish they would've played Emotion Sickness or something like Point of View at this concert. With Daniel's voice sounding like that, those performances would've kicked my ass! Apparently Daniel was having a good day :-)
Even though over the past couple of years my taste for silverchair has dropped dramatically. I'm very appreciative over the fact that at least john's did performances like this before he started to sound like a forever meowing cat. This performance has such a high level of intensity! Besides guys don't blame Paul mac for silverchairs demise, blame Julian Hamilton. After all Paul did keys on spawn again. Julian wrote some of the songs off of young modern
Ha Te you are right...! Sort of playback? I mean...recording guitar with the live rig just BEFORE the show and then play this track in background in front of the audience. Maybe?
Oh dudes [great facepalm! 🤦♀️ ] It's OBVIOUS that Mack Nickelson is talking in a figurative/metaphorical mode; I mean, he's talking about Daniel Johns old music, because this kind of music in his life no longer exists, as if that part of Daniel had died. Did you get it now?
if you watched tenacious D movie..then surely you heard that silverchair is the last band that using the pick of destiny..and it is proven in this video :D
You know when you compare classic rock bands they all sound exactly the same and no one complained. (Ex: Foreigner, Boston, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple, Styx, etc.) Why is it this generation calls every band a copycat if the voice and style is similar, that's kinda what it means to be in the same genre. And its the kind of voice and style people want to hear..And it's obvious they know good music (kurt being an idol to him) so they want to keep the legacy going, anything wrong with that?
Brandon Joda they tended to deny that in interviews, their preference was pink Floyd and pearl jam.. Music their parents listened to.. Their music also clearly showed that. The whole nirvana in pajamas label was funny at the time though, the lead singer with blonde hair, is basically where comparisons started and ended... But still, I think you deserve a slow clap
@@onceuponatimeinhollywood148 can you believe this wall of sound came from 3 dudes? Ive seen em live and Daniel makes it sound like theres 6 people up there
Silverchair is the band for those that want to substitute Nirvana, but still want that original 3-piece grunge/alt. rock goodness. Damn they sound amazeballs live!
@@annelouisemaclellan485 ok well I've seen both live, kurt did nothing but bitch and complain, didn't want to be there. He was completely off key most of the show and forgot his own lyrics far too often, then walked off stage early. I'm a working guitarist of many decades and I can without question tell you he is sloppy and basic at best on guitar. Silverchairs show was nothing short of the best live performance I've ever attended....twice. That boy shows up 100% ready.
I avoided Diorama back then, but I find it now precious! (But I'm still avoiding Young Modern, it's not for me; and "I miss you love", that Neon Ballroom song, , sooo extremely mellow for me that I can't relate it with Silverchair or any rocking ballad style, it's so much honey mellowed for me). Besides that, now I'm enjoying a lot that Dissociatives album too.
They were so talented, and he looks so beautiful with long hair.
I agree...as far as appearance, this is our Daniel!
the shorter hair daniel is aslo beautiful
I think he and the late River Phenix would have understood one another.

Considering the story behind this song, this performance is like a battlecry.
Magnetic and fantastic. Shame they’re no longer together. Makes me so sad.
He looked the best and sounded the best in his life at that time point.
I couldn't agree more!! After this, his voice declined.
That's exactly what I was about to say. LOVE this.
His voice never declined
This isnt when his voice sounded best
one of the most underrated bands ever. amazing.

For me I find his voice more similar to Eddie Vedder. But, in the end they found a place of their own. It is all grunge, but, not equal.
I dont think he sounds like vedder, maybe kurt, but no disrespect, daniels vocal abilities were far above kurts
