I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte. I couldn’t agree more! I watch every ad, except the 63 minute Sarah Palin ad because I want Jim to rack up those views to help feed these babies since he refuses any financial assistance for groceries.

he's been feeding most of them by hand since they were a few months old. To them he is as close to an adopted father as any wild animal could possibly have. They trust him totally.

EXACTLY! Tonight I said “THERE’S WOODY!” really loudly and laughed. My son looked at me like I was crazy!😂 Then... when Buddy finally showed up I said, “OH, LOOK! BUDDY IS FINALLY HERE!!!” even louder! My son finally asked me, “So... who’s Woody and Buddy?!” I forwarded him a couple videos and I think he Subscribed! I really enjoyed spending some time tonight with James, all of the ADORABLE raccoons, Conner Cat and Charlotte! With COVID-19, all the lockdowns and how we are so divided here in the USA, I REALLY NEEDED to sit back and enjoy a video from James and company up in Canada! I wish I could go visit! I have never been to Canada. I hope y’all and your loved ones (EVERYONE watching too!) are staying happy AND healthy!😁

I love that they are watching the door for James return whilst their little paws feel for food. I love how they trust so much and climb all over James and I especially love the way they look through the door just waiting. And I love this mans beautiful big big caring heart. 🙏🏼❤️

Some people dream of having millions when they retire, travel the world and have big houses, fancy cars. But look at this man and his retirement. Can you honestly say that anyone can be happier and more at peace than James? Keep it up, my friend. There is a big house with a deck and a huge yard in heaven reserved just for you.
I like being able to walk around the house, checking on things with Jim after taking care of the raccoons :)

I don't know how Jim resists them. 2 nights of that & I'd be setting up beds for them inside the house & give them all their own passwords to the computer. They are irresistibly cute.

I had a raccoon 🦝 sit on my windowsill while I was watching tv - next night I put food out and he came back - 3rd night all I got were huge cockroaches!!! 😂😱

How James Is Able To Tell Which Raccoon Is Which + His Cats
[Raccoons]
Woody: an older, bigger raccoon that's very shy towards Jame but really likes women; when James has a woman guest over he'll go right up to them. He also likes to keep his distance and will stand on his hind legs by the steps and wait for James to throw a hot dog to him and then run down the steps to eat.
Scooter: the adorable one that scoots up to Jim then scurries off fast to the corner usually hoarding the hot dogs. Will usually climb on James. Scooter is the youngest/smallest/runt of the last litter and may have 1 or 2 siblings that are similar to his size. (Fun Fact: He almost pulled down Jim's pants once, haha!) When spooked, Scooter will run up the deck lattice near the door & inadvertently shut the deck lights off
Sammy: jumps up next to Jim and doesn't mind being petted. Was born in April 2019.
Buddy: Sits right up on the railing behind James to grab at his coat and demand quick feeding of dogs; usually only eats hotdogs then scampers off and tends to put his paws on his shoulders. Though there are other raccoons that mimic his behaviour, the original Buddy will give Jim kisses & will pull him back toward him by his shoulder VERY insistently. He's a rather smart, hyper-alert raccoon that would avoid the raccoons on the stairs & walk the railings to get to Jim; this habit was not taught by Jim but rather was a habit developed by Buddy's own will.
Camera Man/Steven Spielberg: found in the corner top railing who fools with the camera all the time. The name (Steve Spielberg) originally came from the viewers; several other directors were suggested but James ultimately settled on Steven Spielberg!
Blackie: An adult raccoon that has darker fur than the rest of the raccoons. He's come by in previous years on and off; he seems to visit in the spring and return in the fall.
Old Fella/Scrappy: Part of his ear is missing.
Grabby: A notably aggressive raccoon that, as claimed by Jim, will “mark you up if you don’t watch him.” It is also known that other raccoons have acted similarly to Grabby in the past.

- Sammy + Buddy are older than the other babies.
- Foods that Jim usually feeds the raccoons include, but are not limited to chicken hotdogs (with no nitrites/nitrates), dog food, bolognese, grapes, marshmallows and cookies (e.g. Oreos.)
- Jim supplies the raccoons with buckets of water as well.
[Cats]
Connor Cat: A black and white Norwegian Forest cat.
Charlotte: A very fluffy, champagne and white hued cat.

- Both cats are from a rescue centre.
- Jim has couch pillows of both Connor Cat and Charlotte :)

Blackie looks like a cross between a raccoon and husky-hahaha. These cuties are so much cuter and well fed than the ones I see here on Long Island. This was the best one yet. Watching Buddy and his pal on Jims shoulder was just precious . These guys are really part of the family. I really enjoy these videos - they connect us with nature and teach us about what’s possible when we take the time to develop a trusting relationship with wildlife. You can see the love between James and these Raccoons.
Yup... they love him because he was kind to them all first and is loyal in his actions to them feeding them and talking to them everyday.
