Is it me or do these videos now feel forced? I mean when I first found Venture4wd is was about a man in his Jeep traveling, finding that adventure and sharing it with us as he goes. He was living off the land so to speak and we got to see all the amazing places & towns he visited as he lived his life. Now I feel like his videos are forced as this has become his living. He has a home base. His adventures are a few hours in a afternoon driving around the woods, and he’s back before dinner. No longer are we seeing the weeks worth of Chris’s life & adventures.. He would have told the story of being sick, living in the pop up and trekking along in the forests or maybe getting a hotel for a few days to get better. I get that life changes and good for Chis and now Shannon. But the unknown adventure of just traveling forward is no longer. It’s now about a coordinated home base, good wifi and few hour Jeep ride up the mountains around the park. How many remember Chris looking a good camp spot before dark, for the library or coffee shop to upload his “weeks” worth of adventures? Now we get “Honey I’m going to drive around a few trails for a few hours, ok? I’ll be back for dinner’ Thats not the Venture4WD I fell in love with. I’m I wrong?
Yes, I also agree that you are not wrong. Times change and so do people and their goals in life. What was once raw adventure has turned into a scripted and staged program, and it is done well. The description on his TH-cam channel says, "A very raw video journal where I share clips from my adventures, and I describe the challenges that I face by adopting a mobile lifestyle. This is not a glamorous production, and content might be boring to all but the overland travel enthusiast. It is intended to be an honest and insightful look at life on the road." This is what brought us to the channel, but not much of that description applies now. Currently the goal seems to be to maximize revenue with the least amount of "adventure." This is the reason for the call for Patreon contributors and Thatch App customers on each video. Chris seems to be prioritizing enjoying his personal life now. Who can blame him if he can maintain his income. We should be happy for him. He has Patreon followers paying for a $200,000+ Winnebago and a $650 tripod instead of long weeks of adventure. Like Mark below, Patreon contributors will need to determine if they are getting what they want for their dollars. If they are, then Chris's new model of TH-cam programming works. If you want real adventure, try Itchy Boots or The Story Till Now.

Layer of cheese on pan, then bread with more cheese for inside, 2nd bread slice and another layer of cheese on top. Close lid and grill as normal. Hah, nothing normal about a triple cheese grilled sandwich. Even better, add ham slice inside and a pickle side car.

Losing man and woman's best friend is never easy. My condolences to you both on your loss. My parents had a Rough Collie back in the early 90s that had to be put down and I still think of her every now and then. I hope you both get better soon, having a cold is never any fun, I had one a couple of weeks ago myself and still can't shake the cough.

Its heart breaking to put our fur babies to sleep but its the right thing to do. I had to put Maggie Mae to sleep (a Munchkin kitty who was with me for 17 years) after her last day from Kidney Cancer. Its was tough to do but it ended her suffering. RIP Finnegan and Maggie Mae. I will never forgot you little Munchkin💗

Sorry for your loss. We rescued a 13 year old red healer that was taken.on his first car ride in his life while being dumped at the shelter. He was blind and nearly deaf and I felt for him immediately. His name was Bo. I thought of Bo often while watching your videos because Finnigan was the spitting image of Bo right down to the way he'd flop on to the ground. It's a pretty common trait of healers. Anyway, once again I'm truly sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear about Finnegan .We had to put down our Sheltie a few years ago. It was one is the hardest things we have ever had to do. Glad you guys are on the mend. Sounds like you two had what I had a couple months ago. ( the dreaded “Rona”!) That Jeep footage and mountain scenery was spectacular! When we lost our teacup poodle several years ago I took three days bereavement, they are family after all… Love the way Orangie look’s amongst the aspens, fits right in.
