What a sad and incredible story... I own a bottle of Vallée des Rois, bought in Egypt in 1991 during a wonderful trip, I was absolutely unaware of the background of this perfume. Thanks for this video🙏🏻💙
Thank you very much for such an incredible story. Somehow it reminded me about the Nombre Noir as well, and as I see, to the other people in the comments here, too :) Reminiscences aside, I also am a huge fan of the Ancient Egypt themed fragrances, be it Ciro's Ptah or Anima Mundi's Ankh Sun Amon, and luckily no curses here :) And I want to ask you then if you've encountered Anubis by Papillon Artisan Perfumes?
@@dimitrisorceryofscent yes indeed, it is a relatively new one and of my very recent and extremely pleasing and surprising discoveries, I highly recommend you to try it once you have a chance. And, I just checked, according to their website they might be in Melbourne at LKNU PARFUMERIE Emporium Melbourne, Level 1/287 Lonsdale St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia
I bought it in Harrods in 2003 with a little handbag bottle that I gave to someone. I was offered a bottle way back online, but it was way too expensive. I kept the bottle, very beautiful. It looks like a column in a temple and it is also turquoise. I saw it in the customs at Cairo airport on 2005. Again years later I asked my friend in Alexandria whose brother worked there if he could buy it for me. Sadly it was not available. A pilot on a perfume site boasted that he bought all the perfume in England.
I finished reading a very detailed article on the history of this perfume, and I doubted that I could have bought it at the Galeries Lafayettes because in the same year I was on my honeymoon in Paris😅 Posso mandarle una foto del profumo?
Could you possibly share with us what you think is closest in scent to this perfume? I know you said vintage poison by Dior but yhe way I read about this perfume I felt like maybe it is not similar to any other. I hope I am wrong! Thanks!.
Smells quite close to original formulation of chergui by serge Lutens, also smells like a layered combination of youth dew, cinnabar, vintage poison and Ubar - Amouage
Stunning fragrance. Bought it in Harrods in London. Very beautiful bottles❗️SAD STORY❗️ RIP

Please also make a video about Parfum Fin. This brand also stopped producing perfumes in 2016. It had a very popular perfume called Nabucco.

Could you cover nombre noire too? Also "cursed" apparently 👻
I covered NN on my instagram reels: a 90 second clip!
@@dimitrisorceryofscent oh no! I'm not on Instagram 🤦🏻♂️☹
You never know, I may do an extended clip one day
@@dimitrisorceryofscent please! I'd appreciate it, i'm sure the youtube perfume viewership would too 🙏🏻

Its not similar to any others Ive tried.

Stunning bottle but what a tragic story. Enjoying the history of the perfumers as much as your knowledge of the scents
Has anyone tried to replicate the fragrance and come close
Unaware of any.
I have a bottle, more than 3/4 full. I’d like to sell it. Was a gift from a friend whose (deceased) mother bought it at Harrods.
Try ebay.
