It really is. A lot of people don't like it because "Oh no, it hits ME for damage," or "Oh no, it gives my OPPONENTS treasures!," without realizing that for similar commanders like Rakdos and Neheb, it almost always benefits you more, especially for colors that don't ramp as well. Plus, opponents usually get rid of it before it gets too out of hand, which means they won't ramp from it quite as much as you would think.
Really useful and cheap upgrades include a bunch of zero mana spells... ancestral vision, profane tutor, sol talisman, inevitable betrayal. Slightly more expensive zero drops like mox tantalite, and wheel of fate are also nice. Having Abaddon in play and casting any spell, even if your opponents haven't lost any life yet, will cascade into these nice "free" spells.
Honestly, you guys are thinking too small. Tiny pingers like nettle drone seem good on paper but are really sub-par, because a.) all they're good for is pinging and blocking, c.) they're a whiff if you cascade into them, and c.) they'll each only hit for 3 damage max, which isn't nearly enough to give big cmc spells cascade. The real focus should be on crapping out strong, hasty creatures as fast as possible that can trigger the cascade off combat (and combat-based effect) damage. That way, even if Abaddon isn't on the field, your board is still a threat.
Gary can be a big effect but 5 mana is a lot to then cast something else big aftwards to then hopefully cascade. For my own deck I might pop more repeatable like sanctum of stone fangs (unconditional ping with upside) descent into avernus (art feels very on theme for the deck and works with the black Demon). Prosper also jumps to mind that art looks a bit demony too, but works with the cascade.
I can't wait. Im building a group slug deck with him right now. Basically I just want every card I cast just deal damage and to cascade into more damage.
I'm planning on removing the demon synergies and focusing really heavily on cascade/play from exile. Throw in a few 0 mana suspend cards, prosper, arcane bombardment etc. I want to make demon tribal for be'lakor so he gets his own spotlight.
I've played this deck twice, and out of 2 games I cast 1 spell. Both times I was waiting for mana to be able to cast a spell and had to discard cards every hand. It seems the spells are all pretty high mana or need multiple colors. Has anyone else had this issue?

What about Prince of Thralls? You could Cascade into it.
There’s a lot of cast from exile effects that are pretty neat with this deck! I think some of the more recent ones were from Baldur’s Gate…

Oh yeah this deck is absolute garbage. It doesn't stand a chance against the other 3 40k decks or even in a vacuum.
