God bless the couple. Iranian Emperors came to India almost 900 years ago and Persian was their language to run government. Beautiful monuments like Taj Mahal still exists, which was built by one of these Emporrors. So Indian and Iranian are culturally married for long time.
You got the Indian history wrong. Taj Mahal was built by Shahjahan who was a Moghul not Iranian. Nadar Shah who was Iranian invaded India in 18th century fought with Moghuls, plundered Delhi and took famous Peacock Throne from Delhi's Red Fort to Iran, The court language of Moghuls was Persian. India's real connection with Persia is Parsi (Farsi) people, the Zoroastrian Iranians who sought refuge in India in 8th century when they were persecutaed in Iran by Muslim Iranians. Many famous Indian like Tatas, Bhabha, Nawroji etc. are Parsis who are Zoroastrians, not Muslims.
