Hope you enjoyed my first attempt at 70mph! This thing is a beast! So stable at speed can definitely see myself trying for the 100mph top speed! Have any of you managed it yet? If so what setup where you running? Best way to get there etc? Also i mentioned in the video i would be fitting hoons and i probably will but i realise they will be a smaller diameter which may result in a slower speed than the KATAR wheels on this setup. Gearing up seems like the way to go.. Hopefully we can do better next time. Happy but also disappointed at the same time :(
those Ovonics were the issue, others have had the same issue, and once they swopped out Batts, there was no more ESC cutting out. They got too much Voltage sag, try100c batts, yowoo graphene, or spektrum 100c.
Thank you tim! It's very exciting and the thrill of speed makes it very addicting to go out and top the last record!! Can see this getting very expensive!😭🤔🤣
U will go slower with hoons by a few mph smaller tire so there for less distance with every spur gear rotation!! But for the street ya need hoons cuz any off rd tire will do nothing but burn up after a few packs!! I can get 4 mph faster with off rd tires then the hoons
I noticed u slowed down early a lot on this video...due to you maybe being nervous..but great job...the most important thing id having a blast...i enjoy my typhon 6s....i have geared to hit 60mph...and that is my sweet spot....i love seeing u guys break record speeds😁
I got back into it about the same time you did. And 70 mph was my personal best, using the police radar trailer on my street. I built it from a slider, a lady in a Cadillac ran over it on purpose as it was sitting by a curb to stay out of the way and I said there goes $500 down the drain (just stuck new batteries in) by the way. I got lucky and she ran over it rear shock tower to front lifting her car up and said " I didn't see it". Then how do you know what I'm talking about?🤔 She didn't check her car, didn't say sorry, soooo rebuild again. Not one penny spent to repair, as of course it's better to load up on screws when you buy an rc, just days of down time wrenching and replaced bent or broke screws. Straighten the front shock tower and lower hinge pin. Now at about 85-90mph with a 25/46. Now with 28 pinion and 38 tooth spool. Start on 4s and work up to make sure all is good. Need to check my speed. Nice run🤙🤙👍🤜💯🔥had she ran over it sideways, everything would have been destroyed.
Somes times, when it's very cold, my esc's seams to hit lvc under full throttle, but with the packs still charged. I have no problem with the same batteries in warmer weather, running those packs on track, full throttle until true lvc. Cold affects battery power and range.
Just wondering would a different tire tread benefitial? ARRMA is looking pretty attractive for my next purchase. Thank you for the demo and keep pushing those limits.
I think so a good set of on road tyres would be great such as the dboots hoons but they are smaller in diameter so unless I gear up a little it will actually be slower but gain a lot more grip. So I am now looking into a lot of possibilities for the coming months!
My V4 Typhon runs 78MPH on two 3S 5'000MAH 50C Gens Ace LiPo Batteries. I am running the speed Pinion out of my Mojave, and am running the stock tires.
Nope! Other projects or things to record have always had to take priority to help grow the channel and on my very limited time with kids/work/running the channel its been on the back burner for a long time now! Things are getting easier when it comes to time so hopefully can get the typhon done before the end of this year 😭
Much like you I've been out of the hobby for 10 years and I think I'm going to buy this car! All the Battery stuff has gotten quite confusing since I last checked though haha
Its great! Would totally recommend it! I know i did a lot of research and stuff when i got back in to all this back in april 2020 had to remind myself about a lot of things especially when it comes to lipo's and charging. I read that it could be the low voltage detection and its better to turn it off for speed runs but not sure how true this is.. Will have a look at those prolines cheers for the info. Max speed you have managed on the 3s?

I have hit 64 mph with the stock pinion with a 6s 5200 50c battery pack. The issue I ran into when trying to install the 20t pinion is the bolts to the stock pinion are on so tight that I stripped them. Not sure how to get them out now which is gonna lead to a trip to the hobby shop. Incredibly well built powerful machine though even in stock form!
