A poor man's Bonneville without all the mechanical problems. These engines will run forever if you maintain them and they're every bit as classic.

Not really one for bobbers per se' but your eye for style and proportion, is what sets this bike apart from all the rest. Simply stunning sir...well done.

Nice job.....I recall back in the 80s a buddy had an XS650....we traded bikes one day for less a half hour....me on his Yamaha and him on my chopped Norton 750 Commando.....after a few miles we traded back....each almost equally hating riding the other's bike....I would think that the hardtail conversion might solve a lot of the XS6550 frame issues...

Im not a Bobber fan, But Damn this bike looks sweet as hell!!! And when you think of Bobbers and Choppers, You think of like...Harley Davidson or others that build big twins from the factory, But this being a Yamaha makes it that much more special and cool.... and Awsome! Great work, Great Build my friend!

Take a nice, well designed bike and turn it into something that doesn't handle and doesnt stop. Why not just buy a Harley?

  • @nicerides31

I used a Gary Poh 1 inch. offset sprocket.

  • @sammcrae8892

Nice. I just hope it was made from a basket case, and not from a restorable bike. Hey, it's yours to do with what you want, but my old XS was fun, dependable, and as safe as a motorcycle can get because it went, stopped, and handled like a good motorcycle should. It's a nice LOOKING custom. you have obviously put a lot of money and thought that work into that bike, however, if you wind up getting into half of the dicey situations that I did on my 650, and that were handled well because it was a normal bike, brother, I'm afraid you'll be living it very interesting times, if you manage to survive. What's the ground clearance on that thing? No front brake? I hope that works out well for you in the age of cell phones. Be careful bud. ✌️

This thing is a dream...stock frame converted to hard tail? Or is it a completely stock frame? I’m new to the xs650s (v star guy myself) but I want to get one and do something similar to this. Love the position, springer front end, and just the overall bare-bones simplicity of it all 👌🏻 well done

I like your hand made intake manifold and where the carburetor is located.
It looks like you could have a little ram induction going on there. Probably
not, but there isn’t anything wrong with wishful thinking. Your bike is very
nice, clean lines and nothing that isn’t needed.
