Great job. My dad used to take all of us kids to get smelt there in the 70's. I have tons of memories of that area. And eating so many smelt. I loved it.

We would have runs like this in Michigan but the last 17 years they don't come into Shore they stay out in deeper water. But you can find them in rivers. A lot of driving.

I drove through after work at 5:00PM & just kept on driving home. Was hoping to dip a few but turnout was insane. Cars had parked everywhere along that exit you took all the way up to the freeway (it was empty as you arrived in your video). Pretty disappointing really to see how much damage people were doing to the landscapes especially in Lewis & Clark State Park. Ground was too soft & people drove up INTO the park with their trucks. All for 10lbs of a little fish. I live less than 10 min from there & don’t even want to see what it looks like down there today. Never seen anything that bad before. 😢

I just learned that smelt died after spawning. They reminded me of salmon. That's sad.
