| Katowice, Poland, June 2, 2019 - Brazil fought back from losing the opening set to beat Poland 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-17) at the Spodek Arena on Sunday and end week one of the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League with three wins from three.
Brazil, Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic champions, and 2014 and 2018 FIVB world champions Poland began the match with victories over Australia and USA to their names, but after a nervy start Brazil regained their composure and dominated the remainder of the match.
Ricardo Lucarelli Souza led scoring for Marcelo Fronckowiak’s side with 17 points. Yoandy Leal Hidalgo contributed 15, Wallace De Souza weighed in with 14 and Lucas Saatkamp hit 12 including the winner from an attack down the centre of the court.
Poland found it hard to find their rhythm in front of a packed arena. Artur Szalpuk led their scoring with 15 points and Bartosz Kwolek, who scored 13 points, was the only other player to hit double figures for Vital Heynen’s team.
Brazil now travel to Tokyo to take on Japan, Iran and Argentina in week two. Poland are in action in Ningbo in week two where they take on hosts China, France and Bulgaria.

Se tem alguém que até agora está jogando contra as críticas esse jogador é o cachopa !! Jogando bem fazendo o simples e dando conta do recado.
Eu mesmo o criticava bastante no Sada, e fiquei incomodado ao saber que ele viria para a seleção. Mas tenho que admitir que está jogando muito bem e mostrando serviço.

Brasil já era forte no vôlei e agora com Leal no time ficou quase imbatível
@@Leoplautz imbatível? Não exagera. Polônia naturalizou o Leon. Existem pelo menos mais 5 seleções com nível pra ganhar do Brasil, não melhores, mas que se ganharem não é nada demais. Polônia com kurek e Leon é outra seleção, muito mais forte do que essa aí. França é uma ótima seleção, EUA sempre tem um time forte, Irã tem um time extremante difícil de se jogar contra, Rússia é outra seleção que quando acerta o jogo pode ganhar de QQ time. Isso sem falar no Canadá que faz jogo duro com todos esses citados. O Brasil entra sempre como um dos favoritos quando disputa campeonato, agora, quase imbatível é um exagero enorme.
A seleção com Leal, wallace,Lucarelli... fica covardia....

@@uauclic2459 because the dutch team sucks.... only nimir is very good. The Dutch team ran on passion last time no to much on skill and that sucks. But i know we can make it back to the highest lvl now i hope that i will live the day i see it haha

What a powerhouse brazil has with lucarelli, leal and Wallace. The setter from sada can be a threat to Bruno because hes playing very clean.
I see it as a good backup for Bruno instead of a threat. Bruno is by far the start setter and right now he's taking a break after the epic wins in the European and Italian championships.
Pitty they dont have a setter like Ricardo anymore and dont play brazilian style like they did back Then

O time está em outro nível, mas não vamos esquecer que a Polônia jogou sem dois dos principais jogadores.
O perigo da superioridade, sem dúvidas que essa seleção tem nível pára ganhar quaisquer competição, porém o maior rival estará dentro de quadra e do mesma lado da seleção, sem dúvidas que existe um trabalho psicológico em cima desse grupo para Não se deixar levar pelo estrelismo. Mas que esta seleção é espetacular não temos nenhuma dúvida, pode esperar troféus.........

With the globalization, anything is possible. I am against coaches from different countries coaching national teams. I think it has become all about money, nothing else. There is no more countries, only mercenaries looking for profit. I wanna see a Polish team with Polish players and a Polish coach. Otherwise, what does it mean to be Polish? Or Brazilian? Or Italian? The soccer situation is even worse. A giant mess with players caring only about big contracts with European teams. Soccer should limit the number of foreigner's players in their leagues.
Plus555 Plus I agree with you, but that is not the case. Leal and Leon were expelled from the Cuban team but that shouldn’t prevent them to go after their dream of become Olympic champions, if there was a path where they could see that, they went for it.
@@Hour882Die Actually they are forbidden to play in their national team by the stupid cuban policy. Just because they went to play abroad and commited the "crime" of making money, a capitalist sin!! They're considered traitors or mercenaires by the cuban government.
It is just an absurd that so talented players are forbidden to shine in main volleyball events. The same happens to Juantorena and Simon, great players. So, for the good of the sport, of the show, we should be glad to see them performing even if not in their national team.

@@hudiemi Age is not and will never be ang issue so long as the skills and whatever it takes to be an A player is there. Sergio was 40 when he helped Brazil win 2016 OG. Lucarelli, Isac and Douglas are yet to turn 30. Wallace, Bruno and Lucas are still on their early 30s. Clearly the team has a great transition.

Harco Malter the reason sergio could play till 40 is because his position didn’t involve constant jumping and swinging as hard as possible. if he was 40 playing any hitter position there would be a noticeable decline in his vertical jump and power as he aged

Kurek got back injury in April . He had a surgery and was suppose to be ready to play by now but apparently he will not be in qualification for Olimpic im August. I am hoping we can do good without him but will be hard

Yes he was . He and couple of othet players got kicked out of the cuba team and applied for different citizenships. Loel to Brazil , Leon to Poland . they waited 2 years before were allowed to play for other country and now Loel amd Leon are starting their jurney for olimpic medal with new teams .
