      If Komani can take examples of the other cards people throw in to make Red-Eyes work and just make real Red-Eyes support that functions the same way, we would be golden.
      For now and still, i say Red-Eyes need Link-1 support and better Fusion opinions in terms of better fusion methods as well as boss monsters.

    It's painful , but it's true. Red-Eyes has no direction. It has many variants, but each of those are entirely carried by the non-Red-eyes cards.
    Normal variant? Better hope you draw your Tenyi and normal monster continuous spells.
    Burn variant? Either go for cheesy ftk or Dragon link with extra bricks.
    Equip version? Verte is banned in TCG and Slash Dragon is hardly worth summoning any way for Noble Knight or Phantom Knights builds.
    Red-Eyes does have something That Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes doesn't. Red-Eyes has MANY unequivocally good cards. Darkness Metal was so strong it needed an errata. Now it is just a good dragon extender. Black metal is an Omni searcher that doesn't have once per turn. Flare Metal is an extra deck monster that puts pressure on the opponent. Black Meteor is a level 7 extender that can double as a 6 while putting cards in grave. Insight sends for cost and gets any spell/trap , but there is no good target. Soul is a hand trap that has no good targets. All of these qualities with appropriate support could deliver unto us Kashtira #2, or even better, since we are talking about Dragon type cards.
    They can even give Red-Eyes Fusion the Malefic treatment if they want to emphasize those cards. Please just anything good that either works with the aforementioned cards or throw everything out and gives one simple direction. I just want to play Red-Eyes and be able to feel good about it.

      @DisappearBlade If it makes you feel any better, in Quarter Century Chronicle side: Pride they reprinted quite a few Red-Eyes cards, and the archetypes reprinted in Quarter Century side: Unity have almost all received supports in one way or another. We are in the 25th Anniversary of the game, and since the position of the Red-Eyes reprints is parallel to that of Unity's Ancient Gear reprints we could really get something new (I suppose in Infinite Forbidden, since Red-Eyes is an iconic theme of the game and that Quarter Pride comes out about a month before the release of INFO... and the theme of the Pack itself is dedicated to the Anniversary)

      So when I say "Don't do that. Don't give me hope," I simply mean I don't want to believe you, because I've been Inferno Fire Blasted by my own card before.
      Still I'm m not sure if it is selfish to complain about getting support cards when some old favorites don't get the same treatment. Looking at you Serpent Knight Dragon.
      Looking at you Cosmo Queen.

      @CyberTwinDragon9999 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@DisappearBlade Honestly speaking, I think it would be right to give more things to the Red-Eyes rather than other monsters of the genre: Red-Eyes is to all intents and purposes part of the most famous trio of monsters in the game, but it doesn't even take half as much. that they get. Which makes his treatment more unfair.
      But getting back to the main part of the discussion, I understand that you don't want hope for this deck. I'm in the same mood as you and am trying to keep my hopes for future support as low as possible. However, when I think back to the various signs that are out there about the possibility of getting some justice for the Red-Eyes, I can't help but think that there is still a possibility. The signs I'm talking about are:
      -obviously, the reprints of Quarter Century side: Pride. I don't think the Japanese needed to reprint much of the Red-Eyes cards released, especially Red-Eyes Fusion which often received other reprints where somehow a reprint of Red-Eyes Black Dragon or a super occasional support of it appeared (Red-Eyes Soul and Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon). Furthermore, Red-Eyes Black Meteor Dragon had already been reprinted in a Premium Pack along with other VJUMP exclusives two years ago. Sure, they might have done it to reprint Soul, which had no other reprints, but then why not just reprint Soul along with two or three other cards to make room for other, better reprints? Also, as I have already said, the Red-Eyes reprints are parallel in the numeration with the Ancient Gear reprints in side: Unity;
      -we are in the Year of the Dragon. I think the fanbase is expecting to see new cards for the two most iconic dragons in the game. On the other hand, Blue-Eyes just got a new boss monster;
      -speaking of the Year of the Dragon, the card that was released on the first day of the same, Crescent Dragon - Mikazukinoyaiba, seems to have been designed to synergize with the Red-Eyes. Its special summon effect can summon it on your opponent's turn, allowing you to partially bypass the restrictions of Red-Eyes Fusion, and its last effect adds monsters with the exact same characteristics as Red-Eyes Black Dragon to your hand. It's true that we don't have any Lv7 monsters in the Deck that you would like to have in your hand, but it could be a clue to a possible new Level 7 starter;
      -the new Flame Swordsmen from the TCG. Those cards haven't reached the OCG yet, and being linked to Joey as Red-Eyes, a possible support to match that theme certainly wouldn't sound far-fetched, especially to help the sales of both themes. Or even just to enhance another Joey-related theme.
      -it's the 25th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh!, so it's easy to predict that such iconic monsters in the game like REBD will be more easily subject to upgrades;
      -REBD is the only one of the OG trio who has not yet received at least one related card in the last few months. Dark Magician received its version for Gold Sarcophagus of Light, Blue-Eyes White Dragon instead Dragon Magia Master;
      -Red-Eyes is one of the most famous first series themes that hasn't received a wave of support in booster packs since Invasion: Vengeance. DM and BE also had support in those periods as booster packs, and this didn't stop them from receiving more support in series 11;
      -this year we also celebrate the anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Curiously, none of the Duelist Pack: Legend Duelist cards related to Joey appear as reprints in Quarter Century Pride, which could mean the arrival of Atticus Rhodes-related support, given that Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon was his ace monster;
      -Infinite Forbidden is a pack designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game, so you would expect to see mostly characters from the first series supported in it, being the most famous ones.
      I've talk a lot and I apologize for this, obviously don't think that these reasons are a guarantee of any kind. But by bringing them together, I can't help but think that they'll finally give us something new for our favorite dark dragon.

    You know what, i disagree with the premise that cohesion and focus is the solution to the red-eyes problem.
    Red-eyes SHOULD be a garnet splash strat where you put the 1 brick and 5-8 support cards into another start that needs an extra deck support, red eyes fusions are beatstick boss monsters and then give us some redeyes synchros that are like red-eyes jinzo to shut down traps and red-eyes relinquished; because maybe adding 2400 base atk to equiping oponents guys will make it playable as a synchro; or maybe that effect needs to be a non-targeting removal tool. Another Red-eyes xyz would be nice too and then they can give us our first link 7 red-eyes-cyber-black-overload-metal-end-abyss-zombie-ghost-pirate-dragon that will do something underwhelming and lame but each red-eyes counts as double link material.

      @aliesterus1.023 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Red Eyes as an engine is actually incredibly consistent. The problem is none of the parts work together properly, and the best parts of it locks you out of additional plays.
      They should have leaned into fusion as a mechanic like they did for Fluffals, and make fusions within the archetype incredibly easy to pull off while having payoffs for other than just having a powerful fusion. The fusions themselves should also be able to contribute other than having powerful effects, either by helping to extend or searching or something.

    I love Red Eyes Black Dragon as an archetype. A dragon whose skin is my favorite color. However, Red Eyes has suffered a lot through card that only kept him from being a success. Based on my experience in DL only, some of my favorite Red Eyes cards are:
    1. Red Eyes Fusion: one of the best Spell Fusions ever that made a RE fusion easy to summon.
    2. Dark Dragon Paladin. He can tribute himself to summon any Red-Eyes monster. The Ritual Spell can be banished to bring a Red-Eyes spell/trap frm your deck to your hand.
    3. Red Eyes Insight: Like Dark Dragon Ritual, but better.
    4. Red-Eyes Baby Dragon: nice effect after being destroyed by battle.
    5. Black Stone of Legend: great card that can tribute itself to bring a RE out from the deck.

      Pretty toxic for a meta gamer to gatekeep fans for just wanting to PLAY. Oh wait, silly me, these metagame YGO types would rather sit there fondling themselves for 20 minutes it takes to vomit out their entire deck only to tell the other guy he just OTK'd or he locks him right the fuck out of his entire play so "gg scrub" or some shit even tho he didn't even play a goddamn card. And then they make videos like this just trashing the fans of the anime that made this card game in the first place.
      Videos like this are why the phrase "touch grass" exists. If that makes me some sort of dueling boomer? Ok. Proud. Cause at least when I find 10 minutes here and there to play a children's card game? I have fun with the other person win or lose. Not this toxic crap the OP just pulled.

    I thought of some names for future Red Eyes support. They just need effects. I wish pure Red Eyes was competitive. BE and DM support have way more than RE. Their support is just 🤌 compared to RE. RE needs more consistency. Re doesn't know what it wants to do. Mostly they've focused on equip cards, gy, searching recycling, burn damage and boosting ATK from GY.
    Red Eyes Potential (Continuous spell)
    Red Eyes Fury (Counter Trap)
    Red Eyes Revenge (Counter Trap)
    Destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of each monster's ATK.
    Red Eyes Salvation (Trap)
    Red Eyes Sovereignty (Field Spell)
    Red Eyes Remedy (Quick play Spell) Destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field and gain life points equal to one monster's ATK.
    Red Eyes Repayment (Trap) Search your deck and discard up to 3 cards from your deck to the GY and banish up to that many cards from your opponent's deck of your choice.
    Red Eyes Retaliation (Trap)
    Swap the ATK and DEF values of all monsters on your opponent's side of the field and one "Red Eyes" you control gains ATK according to difference of each one.
    Vengeance of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Reckoning from the Black Dragons (Trap)
    Rise from Ashes (Continuous Trap)
    Activate only when a "Red Eyes" monster is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard. Special Summon that monster to your side of the field in the same battle position it was in when destroyed. Equip to it the monster that destroyed it as an equip card and get it gains 800 ATK/DEF. When your monster would be destroyed, destroy that card instead. Banish this card from the GY and draw 2 card.
    Descent into Darkness (Continuous Spell) Your opponent's monsters lose 600 ATK for each "Red Eyes" you control and one monster you control gains 600 ATK for each "Red Eyes" on the field and in the GY. Your opponent cannot activate card effects during the battle phase.
    Red Eyes Refusal (Counter Trap)
    When your opponent activates effects in response to summoning a "Red Eyes" you can negate that cards activation and banish it. You can then target up to 2 cards on your opponent's side of the field and return them to the deck. Inflict 2400 to your LP for using this effect.
    When the Smoke Clears (Quick Play Spell)
    The first time any "Red Eyes" monster you control would be destroyed by card effects or battle, it is not. Your opponent cannot activate effects in response to this cards activation.
    Black Dragon Dominance (Continuous Spell)
    Each time a "Red Eyes" is special summoned from the GY to the field increase it's ATK by 400. Any effects that would reduce your monsters ATK are negated. The ATK of monsters your opponent controls is halved during the battle phase.
    Warriors of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Machines of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Wizards of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Fisherman of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Zombies of the Red Eyes (Spell)
    Crimson Soul (Continuous Trap)
    Your opponent cannot target "Red Eyes" in your Monster Zone with card effects. If this face-up card is sent from the Spell & Trap Zone to the GY: Destroy a "Red Eyes" monster you control and you take damage equal to its original ATK. You can only use the following effect of "Crimson Soul" once per turn. You can activate 1 of these effects;
    • Special Summon 1 "Red Eyes" monster from your hand or GY ignoring it's summoning conditions.
    • Set 1 Spell/Trap directly from your Deck, that specifically lists "Red Eyes" in its text, with a different name from the cards you control and in your GY.
    Crimson Soul is for RE as True Light is for BE and Eternal Soul is for DM.
    Lord of Red Chaos (Ritual)
    Red Eyes Darkness Chaos Max Dragon (Ritual)
    Flame Swordsman the Black Dragon Master (Fusion)
    A Flame Swordsman monster+ A lvl 7 RE
    Red Eyes, Dragon of the Deep (Fusion) RE+ "A Legendary Fisherman"
    Old Sword Master of the Flame (Fusion) A Flame Swordsman monster+Time Wizard
    Jinzo, Black Dragon Armored (Fusion) Jinzo+ RE Black Metal Dragon
    Gearfried, Master of the Red Eyes Black Dragon Sword (Fusion)
    Time Wizard of the Red Eyes
    Landstar of the Red Eyes
    Rocket Warrior of the Red Eyes
    Panther Warrior of the Red Eyes
    We need stuff we can pitch to Konami to make the deck cohesive, fun to use and viable. Using all of its strategies working together with things that help keep them on the field and defend against modern cards.
