I’m loving these type of videos! Simply explained and informative ✨ I actually recently noticed a 😩 bald spot 😭 and it definitely can be a result to me always laying my baby hair, I was obsessed. It could be traction alopecia. So I stopped for the past month and hope to see some growth. Thank you for this video Angela! Loving the content & consistency ✨
I'm so happy to hear that my videos are useful and so sorry to hear that you have noticed a bald spot :(. Hopefully with patience and time everything will go back to normal! And otherwise: you know where to find me! 💕
ive had traction alopecia and its because of a decade of tight hairstyles and i stopped when i knew it was traction alopecia and the hair is growing back but its growing slowly and thinly will it grow back thick eventually?
I know this is late but what kind of hairstyles do you use now? I think I'm experiencing Traction Alopecia as well but don't understand what are safe and good hairstyles that can reduce/minimize TA (traction alopecia) for long hair! I have hair between my chest and hips and am a young guy! Simple braid (not too tight, not too light/loose) is good? Man bun is ok? Just not corn rows, box braids, tight ponytail etc...? or something else as well? Also, I feel like a low loose bun ends up straining neck movement (I don't know if it's supposed to be like that or I'm doing something wrong), like if I'm studying or playing sports, so what is a good secure, safe from TA hairstyle I can use? Thank you very much for you reply!
Baby hairs saved my edges… as soon as i stopped my edges were snatched!!!! 😢… then again i didn’t really do them… i just left the edges out and very rarely touched them.
After you reverse the hairstyle and grow back some hair (like I used to do a ponytail all the time and I’ve stopped), can I do ponytail ever again after regrowth??
It's hard to answer this question since I havent evaluated the state of the scalp, I'll personally would have to use a microscope to see if there is still any activity on the scalp. It could be possible, but it really depends on the state of the scalp in that area and the state of the 'donating' area being used on your scalp! x
when I say long term I'm really talking about seeing no return or hair growth activity for over a year. Depending on how severe and the state of the follicles in some cases we can safe some after that period of time but transplants can also be an option again, depending on the overall state of both the effected as the donor area! x

Mine comes from wearing a scarf for more than 20 years. I never thought it was that, but just realized that there is something like this

Will minoxidil and steroid injections help hair to regrow back if you have traction alopecia?
Could you do a video on low tension hairstyle? I love your content
Oehh good one! Gonna put it on my list! 💕
Can wearing a vr headset or a cap cause traction alopecia?
Started braid my own hair because my hairdressers all did my braids tight all the time.

Do you think would be possible to get box braids if i have some alopecia on the sides?
If it has been years, can a transplant work

What is considered long-term? I had tight braids for a month and noticed significant hair loss, is it still reversible?

Can box braids cause traction alopecia?
Yes. Getting box braids is what caused my traction alopecia.
