I did this song with my choir this year, our clinician taught it to us the day before and told us that he was going to start the song at a random time in the concert and that we needed to be ready for it, needless to say it was one of the best pieces I’ve ever done, the clinicians name was Derrick Fox
Delightful. I love all the songs you’ve been sharing lately, but especially these interactive ones. Great for the kids who can not meet in their choirs right now!
The simplicity of this is deceptive. What a great bass line ! That last note of the first phrase is a good challenge for the untrained voice. The harmonies really bring out the overtones of bells!
Great stuff! Blake says when the bell tolls you can sing any note besides the major 7th and the 'T'. What does the latter mean? The triton (#4)? Thanks!
Any note besides what??? Canadian here. No subtitles. Didn't get it. Kind of important . We ring the bells at our church twice during the service. Would really love to know what NOT to sing. lol Love this group .Totally amazing harmony and sync!
Blake says 'you can pick any note in the key besides the major 7th or ti' -- major 7th referring to the diatonic 7th scale degree, or 'ti' for our many American friends who use the 'solfège' system (do re mi fa sol la TI do).
@@bobbyhendley3084 "Carillon de Westminster" is a well known organ composition, written in 1927 by Louis Vierne, organist of Notre-Dame in Paris. It is a cleverly thought out fantasia on the Westminster Chimes. Very joyous and inspiring. There are several good recordings here on TH-cam.
If the text was »Ding, dong, ding, dong - dong, ding, ding, dong«, there would be four bells. In your version, there are six. ;) However, I like it a lot! :)

I am pretty sure you all could sing the score of pots and pans falling down concrete steps and it would sound beautiful.
My mood got 1000% better listening to this. Thank you all!!!
Ahhh, Thank you Voces8, for a wonderful Saturday morning smile. It helps chase covid8 x 2 + 3 blues away!
I love the way the harmonies correspond to the harmonics that come out of tower bells. Thanks for the interactive session!
And as I was listening to this, near the beginning, the basilica across the street tolled 1:45 on Westminster Chimes melody!
Thank you so much for your interactive Songs!

You guys are AWESOME! I LOVE these sessions. It so beautifully illustrates how the puzzle and art of music emanates from within.

He said major seventh OR the 'ti', i.e. the 'ti' in "Do Re Mi".
Do re mi far so la ‘ti’ do, as in the 8notes of a scale so ‘ti’ is the 7th

@@VOCES8 thank you! Of course 'ti', my bad. Around here we say 'si' :). Greetings from Belgium.
Can't ear what does he say after "Big Ben has got a tord" (4:00) =/
"...is going to toll." The "DONGGGG DONGGGG..."
Big Ben? Or "Carillon de Westminster" :)
ilyasivkov - Big Ben is located in Westminster at the houses of Parliment

Never mind the song, Blake Morgan should marry me. lol

six is ✋+✌...
Yeah, didn’t quite nail the finger-mathematics there, did I? Guess music was a better subject to pursue 😂 Good eye!
He was counting in 4’s since they were in 4/4. 6 beats so he reset when he get to his fourth finger and got to 2
Nope. Wait. I see it now. Never mind lol
