That's a beautiful stone! I used to facet years ago on an outdated American Facetor. I am looking to purchase an Ultra-Tec. My question on heart shapes is how manufacturers create that divot at the top of the heart. Is it by using a diamond wheel and then polishing it?
Thanks, from what ive seen, there is a diamond wheel for cabochon machines that will cut the groove in the top but it must be done before faceting is started , then the stone must be oriented perfectly and im not sure how the groove would be polished. Good luck in getting your machine, I would love to have an ultra tec.
Thank you, this one tried my patience since i had the dopping failure. I must have mixed the epoxy glue incorrectly( not having 2 equal parts) i suspect.
I never knew this is how stones were cut, thank's for sharing. Something I might try my hand at one day.
And how is the stone held on to the arm?
@@trippleeksell4098 sometimes a glue and other times a wax that can be melted and hardens with hi strength.
Looks great how long did it take?
One like that can take 5 or 6 hrs, but im a slow cutter.

@@tennpikr74 Thank you! Maybe one day I'll start with some cheap quartz, and practice it.
Nice job
