I want to ask, is the ceremony what causes the rain or the rain came because it would have come anyway because it is the season of rain.
Just as if it is winter season, temperatures drop because of the absence of the sun and not because of a ceremony to bring on the season.

That is a good answer-like question. But consider this as well:in my community which is far,far the women would dance to bring the rain on.There was a male rain maker and the women would be singing obscene sexual songs & co.Pleadings were made in the format that the husbands would not desire and satisfy them sexually unless there was rain and bounty harvest!
My reading of our history shows that we had happiness and joy together as a families and community.
I am not giving new content. The relationship has a psychological benefit, and it was sufficient because we never once failed so badly as to decide to destroy any other person's culture or heritage.

@@philemonmuli1806 Not asking for a diatribe. Just a simple explanation will do. Not trying to be disrespectful. My asking is out of wanting to know.

I am sorry, very sorry. This is the natural connection I find here now:the rains came because of natural seasons systems. The rainmaking and all such craft respects the natural order, doesn't condone going against the season but rather to remain in rhyme. The rainmaking shrine definitely must be used to draw inspiration toward conservation of the environment.
The outcome:a natural expectation that the seasons will not be changed, the rains will fall in season, etc.A culture of respect for nature has been portrayed and protected through the people's way of life(no conservation law at all!).This approach will do so much good because survival is clearly linked to respect for nature and seasons, and therefore had this persisted to date I am sure there'd be no global warming, greenhouse gasses, unexplained shifts within climatic zones, etc. Our communities were therefore equipped to conserve their source of survival by the very way they'd practice.
Seeding rain as has been mentioned is abusive to nature, changes all natural phenomena, etc.
It is morally wrong to abuse nature and ask God for rain, but the traditional African was spot on:respected nature and (expecting) asked God(the supernatural) for rain.
This is narrow but the bible tells us to ask God for rain when it is rainy season, whether the short or long rains in it's season.
      Again I am sorry.

Do not, repeat, do not, show them anything. They will mis-use it. Because they are the kind of beings they are. Our ancestors, the Ancient people of Kemit, could not grasp this fact. Look at the result.
