People that says he needs a revamp are either high, or doesn't even ever play him.
Literally all he needs now is reverting his passive nerf that happens years ago. Buff the range against wall and the def growth of his passive.
He suffers too much from the def item nerf from last patch, his late game capability drops significantly but Moontoon just doesn't care.

@@afa12345 The thing is, most tanks have passive and skills that compensate for this. For example Khufra 2nd skill, Tigreal immunity passive, Hylos mana conversion + healing ult + attack speed slow, Lolita shield, etc.
While Grock falls on the same category as Hilda, Uranus, Esmeralda, which falls on the category of "Punching bag". Essentially, their objectives is to poke on enemies while getting hit themselves. While the other kind of tanks can do cc or have immunity to avoid getting hit, these tanks very reliant on how much they can barter the damage taken vs given.
Yes there is a buff in base def and growth on all tanks, and that impacts the early game. But the item nerf inevitably impacts the late game. Which the "punching bags" type can't compensate on late game because they don't have anything else other than hitting them hard.
I think the abyssmal pick rate of Hilda, Uranus, and Esmeralda is enough to show this fact.
Grock is barely keeping up just because he have immunity + very strong cc on ult, but he still falls on the same fate as them.

most tanks have passive/skill that compensate: having cc immunity for grocks is a big deal, could you imagine if hylos has cc Immunity while in ult area?
The last sentences of the first paragraph, the other tanks you described is basically grock, in fact grock is the only one who can do both (giving cc AND cc immunity)
the def growth buff doesn't affect early game, at all. It's called def GROWTH, not base def, since you haven't leveled up and didn't buy any item, it changes nothing. at late game the total def growth with def item nerf should cancel out.
lastly, the current meta simply need more heroes with cc, "punching bag" isn't needed in the current meta, not like they're bad to begin with.
@@afa12345 When i said compensate, it's things that does makes you take less damage. All of the ones that i mentioned effectively nullify damages. How about Grock? Sure it's cc immunity, but that's it. You are just freely taking the hits with zero dash to run from it and zero damage reduction. All the hits that you take, you gotta recall to get the health back now.
He did have passive heals BEFORE nerf years ago, which was kinda butchered same as Radiant Armor passive heals. This is why i mentioned he needs these nerfs reverted.
And no. Because Grock main skill is his first skill. He mainly ONLY does damage. If you mention cc, his cc is only every 40 second AND it's in a straight line AND it needs a wall for maximum cc time. Unlike the tanks that i mentioned, they have a dash, a quick cd cc, and a way to nullify damage. And i said "Immunity to damage" not "cc immunity" mind you.
Something that you do forget that tanks levels up the slowest in the team. So when your enemy goes to level 15 you are mostly at level 12 in around 15-18 minutes in game. Effectively, you won't feel the "def growth" since you are in 3 levels deficit or so. And there is a base def increase on that patch, maybe you should have read the patch again.
For the last argument, i could say that when Hilda and Grock was meta the jungler was also mainly Assasins, this was in M3. It's not that the meta needs more heroes with cc, it's just that tanking damage is now just less viable with all the def item nerfs. This is the main reason that tank jungler fell off if you are that clueless about it.
Yes they are not bad, but with how tanks growth is very slow compared to all the snowballing Marksman and Jungler, they would just die.
It's just clear as a day when you see how many heroes can just 2-3 shots tanks now, but if you are not a tank main i could understand that.

There should be a special feature when grock is using 1st skill, first if he's near a wall his 1st should get a bigger range and if uses it near his wall the wall should explode dealing aoe

For me, maybe it's because of bias between playmaker roamers, support roamers like JS and Mathilda and DMG roamers like HC. I still use Grock, because, well, he's my comfort pick and as well as my main, rivaled with Hylos, Chou and Edith as best FLEX picks for EXP and roam and as well as high versatility: can be played as an burst fighter, setter or an countersetter. Also neat at countering high mobility heroes and goated at bush checking too.
And for me, Grock deserves being part of the saying, "Numbers don't lie" as he is often a hot pick on tournas instead of the usual RGs and also the good factors listed above
He's best tank setter for me,,im okay if my enemy got pro tigreal, atlas or tanks with massive cc but if the enemy have pro Grock, my god aint no joke,,i cant farm like usual because every damn time their minions got blocked by his wall and it pretty annoying when he charged his ult and straight up to backline 💀
His first skill should be considered as basic attack, for thunderbelt stack and slow, also a great one for heptaseas
I HOPE GROCK GETS A REVAMP LIKE HIS 2ND SKILL HAS A 2ND PHASE THAT CAN MOVE HIS WALL FORWARD OR BACKWARD and it can pass through wall his self or allies when moving his wall to a obstacle/wall.

Speaking of odd builds, the rework to items made Kaja a beast in any lane, since his passive can stack thunder belt at max rate, despite having the extended range. It's easy to get over 50 in a game, and the clock of destiny makes him very tanky.
He's way too slow and charge too long.... he need the revamp more than granger 😑

But freya won reforge your legend and grock was an option to pick. Freaking ml community (not everyone ok) has alot of brainless, immature, inexperienced, toxic restarts that only know how to play low skill heroes like layla miya hanabi zilong and proceeds to feed even in higher rank and blame others for doing the right things
all he needs is a buff, decrease the charge time of s1 and decrease the foreswing of s2, his skillset and passive are kinda good ngl
I actually prefer to play roam every match because I know it is a important role, and almost no one can rly play it well, so "Fine, I'll do it myself"
I'm not a roam main, but thanks to your vids I started playing it with forgotten heroes you show here. I recently started playing Kaja for this reason and he's really fun to use, now I'm gonna try Grock as well. Thank you for making these cool videos, keep it up!

I've always played that item first, since the passive change and I think that Grock has the best variety of skins of all the heroes
I feel like grock is under-used because in this assasin/tank meta, playing grock feels like picking rock against an opponent who always goes paper.
(With mobility and tanky enemies being grocks nemesis when it comes to being an effective tank)
I don't hate grock, but I don't particularly like him either. As a tank main, he's still tricky for me to get a decent handle on.
on bright side his ulti cc is relatively simple to apply, ntm its a nearly 2s cc (excluding that knock up cc) for that difficulty

I buy rose gold meteor first item when I play mm. Why do i do so? It gives me a good chance of surviving enemies assassin as it offers a shield and additional movement speed when low HP allowing me to sustain and escape in sticky situations
@@Tl.2255 If you need to survive earlygame, better get armor boots and/or component def equipment. Rose gold is good, but its passive has a cooldown unlike the def equipments.

They should revamp his First Skill Mechanics, so you can flicker while casting it. And faster animation of his second skill.
Apart from his insane passive and ult. He charges way too slow and the wall is so niche, doenst last long has slow animation and it can grief the whole team sometimes.... He needs changes especially the effing wall

Many tanks need rework or revamp, man those hypocrite people who want to nerf tank so bad. But in rank they always need "roam tank please?" i cannot play roam/tank " bla bla bla. Most those hypocrite i think, some mm, assasin roamer/jungler, etc. Tanker and Support is player who cares about their team mate and protect them. A good Tank can carry team just like a good jungler.

Blood lust was moved to war axe, just use fighter emblem since it has big physical atk and it greatly boost your physical def early on.

Only works if your exp is a tanky type
For me, roam Grock fits at most situations. EXP Grock is great, but should be best used if there is only at least one enemy magic DMG dealer and have tons of CC

Like come on, his wall can RESET objectives, serve as an extension for his ult's CC duration and CC immunity when combining it with 1st skill and zone minions for base defenses, unlike Badang whose wall can be only used for doing what he only shines at: BURST

Ive literally just been gatekeeping it and have been begging for moonton to ignore all this comments about him needing a buff or even worse a revamp 💀. He really isnt that bad that people make him up to be. Ult is easy to land without the need of second skill or flicker. The game has a wall near u at all times lol

I mean, you get extra physical defense from his passive's attribute conversion from physical attack, magic defense from rose gold's base stats, a shield to soak up some burst dmg and a temporary movement spd boost to disengage quickly or close the gap
@@slimslimee4411 true but as your first item its not a good idea bc in early game there are alot of meta life steal heros so its better to have dominance there also if you use this item since you are a roamer and roamers cant farm fast you cant out run a magic burst hero with that so in early they gonna bully you then i dont think there is enough space for it specially bc even in late since you are a tank you gonna take anti heal all the time so the shield is half too

Because being a useless mm because you delayed your trinity(crit or dhs trinity both apply here) will come to bite you mid game as even if you die less, you are effectively 1k gold behind on your power spike.
If you win while using it, it's because the game was already a stomp.
If you lose it's partially because you were a useless mm for too long.
Even Beatrix who does'nt trinity cannot escape this fact. If you build gold rose early you don't capitalise on her quick scaling and will likely fall behind.
