Ben's brother Greg Alexander and Mark Geyer couldn't understandably play ( although Greg had not played since Rnd 5 due to injury ), as well as the players playing under trying circumstances for the rest of the year. 1992 season finish couldn't have come sooner.
Yes it was a tragic time for Penrith players and their families and very hard on the fans too. I have never ever seen this game because I was on a holiday in the Northern Territory at the time and there was no iPhones back then. I was just a kid but I followed footy closely even at 11 years of age but the ‘92 season and our later games that year are kind of a blur. I just know we lost most games after Ben died and we didn’t really recover for quite some years.
