Hi Jade. What a lovely range of projects! I have also joined the HAED SAL and have chosen Astrological Cat. Just waiting for my DMC to arrive and everything else is organised. I am motivated by the promise of free charts because there were 2 or 3 I could have chosen and I would certainly stitch but I think it is very do-able. Like you I do not need any more HAEDs but I am not going to knock back a freebie. I am also a member of WIP Warriors and have been the last two years. I mainly participate in the road trip which I completed a week and a half ago. Having a bit of a break at the moment. I hope you enjoy the groups!
Lol I’m trying to focus on your stitching, but the ears flop back and forth and it amuses me and distracts me. 😂 I hope you have a wonderful holiday and get plenty of stitching done. Best wishes in the new year.
Question! When doing full coverage pieces, how do you start? Are you doing half stitches? Are they called ten stitches? Or are you doing full X stitches? How many strands of floss? I am getting ready to start a full coverage from HAED and I do not know what I am going! I have a 32ct easy count fabric, but this will be my first full coverage piece. And like I said I don’t know what I am doing… 😂
Welcome to full coverage! I hope you love it! The best advice I can offer is what I was also told: take your fabric and do a little testing on the margins: try 1/1 full cross in a 10x10 square, try 1/1 half cross (tent) and try 2/1 half cross. Doing this will help you decide which you like better to do, which coverage you like better. I have projects with both. On 32 count you may find that 1/1 (1 thread over 1 fabric thread) works best, but you may also be happy with 2/1 (2 floss threads over 1) half cross. Test stitching is the way to go. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out!
WOW!!!!! Absolutely loved this long video!!!!!! Everything is amazing 🥰 I wished I had purchased “Gamer” from HAED, as looking at the Etsy shop remarks….it seems as though the quality of the chart isn’t the same (more pixelated?). VERY SAD, so not sure if I should purchase or not. What are your thoughts? Thank you for a sharing your cross stitch journey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰. The Gamer pattern actually comes with two versions: one has about 30 colours and the other 95 colours. I’m doing the 95 colour version as I did hear that the other one is pixelated. I’m not far enough into it to really tell yet but I hope it will be ok.
